I am loving watching this so far. There are a lot of things to level, but the game is pretty generous with souls. It’s typical to be close to double what you were in DS1 by the end. Can’t wait to see the next episode!

I think you hit the nail on the head with "The game is mean", the game really tries to be an asshole most of the time, and enemy density can get overwhelming at times, but as long as you stay calm you'll get through it! Let's see what the next episode holds. There's enough places to go too! Non-spoilery tip: Illusionary walls don't always open when hit, some doors/walls you actually need to press the action button on one to open it.

2023-11-22 15:54:02 +0000 UTCYeah in DS1 I finished the game at lvl 80 or something, in DS2 I finished it at lvl 160 I think with no farming or anything. You get a ton of levels in DS2 to make up for the amount of skills you have to level up.

2023-11-22 15:02:30 +0000 UTCDon't worry too much about having to level so many things, you will level much faster in DS2 and the number of souls you need for each level goes up much slower than DS1 for example.

2023-11-22 14:53:22 +0000 UTCI'm just going to throw this out there and maybe it was expressed by other people before, but levelling up adaptability is one of the best things you can do in the game. Getting your agility to at least 100 in the status screen by levelling adaptability. The game does a terrible job at informing you what it actually does. In DS1 you had invincibility frames while dodging, they made it harder in DS2 but added the agility stat to compensate. Anyway, really happy you're doing DS2, 2 episodes deep and barely scratched the surface!
