I know this was really weird and short, I am not sure if I am allowed to talk about the game publicly at all so we will see hahaha, it was fun to share a reaction to seeing something you've worked on, I guess for me anyway hahaha, more games coming sooooon!

Congrats on Fable. The original Fable was one of my favorite games on XBOX. Wasn't huge into Fable 2 or 3 but looking forward to this one. I don't know how the game will turn out but from the teasers they've shown so far, it seems like they're shooting for a mockumentary style of humor; akin to shows like "The Office" or "What We Do in the Shadows" I don't know if that's what they're trying to incorporate into the game, but should be interesting to see what the final result will be.

2023-06-14 05:58:58 +0000 UTCJust had a read through some of those reviews, seems like a similar problem to many game studios these days, the comments about management and communication especially ring true; I don't say this from my own experience, but my partner was a staff writer for a british studio and left for similar reasons. You're better off being self employed, if game dev calls for you again get into indie development! 🙂

Game development is so tough and it doesn't even start at a job, I feel sorry for students too - from trying to break in and get a job to working too hard on portfolios. We were all crunching at university to get the game art work done for the ridiculous deadlines and expectations on our course! It was bad

But then I watched it again to see how Amber was reacting... literally trying not to burst with excitement and scanning every frame, ahaha. It seems like you really enjoy having a part of your work injected into the franchise, will you ever go back to that? And I can't be the only one interested in the mixed feelings you had.

Game development seems to have a harsh reality hit some people when they enter the industry, I hope your mixed feelings haven't soured your idea of being a game dev. I'll be waiting for gameplay footage to get a better sense, the way it plays and stuff like UI is too important for a game like this. I agree that the tone is right, I just miss the older visual style where things looked more like a fairy tale.

But now I can be double excited. I know it must be hard to speak vaguely on the game, as there are reports of its existence dating back almost 4 years at this point. There is a lot to talk about and not talk about apparently. But congrats on Wheelbarrow and all the other amazing things (but mostly wheelbarrow)
