Saying goodbye to Hollow Knight

I got very emotional after finishing this video, had quite a cry. Hollow Knight, I loved you.

Thank you so much to everyone for supporting this series, if you've joined and decided to stay, thank you again. What a game and what a playthrough! I think it may be my favourite that I have done on the channel! It just seemed to click with me and my humour and what I enjoy in a game.

So I have Mossbag's lore video watch along, I am just going to check if there any any issues from Youtube and possibly Mossbag because, ofc, it is their property and I am just going "hmm, ahh, interesting" over and over again ahahaha, not sure how interesting that will be for everyone but it was really highly requested!

Truly so very sad about this. I think I am going to feel very lost until Silksong, and maybe even then, don't get me wrong I am loving Outer Wilds and I deeply love Zelda but I feel like Hollow Knight became my channel identity for so long haha.

I am looking forward to jumping back into a souls game soon though! Elden Ring did give me that itch, but its definitely too big and confusing for me at the moment ahaha. Still firmly believe that will be an "in my own time" game but who knows, I definitely don't feel ready for it yet. Still love that tree though, so cool. I am thinking Dark Souls? Sekiro? Dark Souls 3? I am not sure where to start and I am scared of all of them after my brief trip to Limgrave LOL.

Let me know what your favourite moment of this series was! I wish I had asked that in the video, was too busy being sad.

See you soon!

Couldn't have said it better :D

Just realized I posted three different comments. Took me a day to watch this entire video, stuck at work, my bad. Anyway, favorite moment of the series was when I saw the video posted of episode 1. I knew then what I know now; you are my favorite Let's Play creator. The respect I have for your humble, quirky opinions and observations is unparalleled, and like all your fans, I would jump at the chance to have a conversation with you about literally anything.

Nathan Elkin

I don't want to be that guy... but you may also enjoy finding A, B, C, D, E, F, and of course, G. Anyway, you deserved them tears. You did good.

Like many people, HK brought me to your channel. Will be sad to see it go, I remember when I beat the game a couple of years ago I just didn't really know what to do next from a gaming perspective, it sounds like hyperbole but other games felt soulless by comparison. Funnily enough the next game that left me with that feeling was Outer Wilds. Can't wait to see Silksong on the channel one day.

I am so glad this game has become one of your favourites. It certainly is one of mine! I had a difficult time letting it go as well. I found your channel through your Hollow Knight videos, and have followed your journey from the first upload to the end. It has been an incredible journey to experience the game again through your eyes and perspective. Your sense of humour and wit got me through some rough days. I always looked forward to a new HK video because it always put a smile on my face and made me laugh a lot. Thank you so much Amber for sharing this series with the Patreon and YouTube community! My favourite moments of the series were hearing your perspective on the music and animation, and experiencing the game through the lens of a game dev. Your sense of humour put me in a good mood. One example of this is as follows: In Crystal Peak when you discovered Quirrel, you walked into the glass wall overlooking Dirtmouth below and made a comment about smooshing your face against the wall. I laughed out loud so hard! Another example is calling the mushroom enemies in Greenpath Owen Wilson because of the sounds they make. I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought so! I loved it every time you saved the Grubs. I was also mortified at the Grub father upon freeing all the Grubs. Your discovery of Millibelle in the City of Tears was also one of my favourite moments! You also really cared for the story and were empathetic towards each of the NPC's you meet along the way. Thanks again for the smiles, laughs, and being genuine and sincere. This game has been an absolute joy to experience from your playthrough!

Wonderful to see you having taken on the Radiance and triumphed. No hard feelings if you won't attempt the Pantheons - they are after all "just" a DLC, even if a very large & cool one. And as for how we have all been managing the long wait for Silksong? Watching you playing Hollow Knight certainly helped pass the time.

That was amazing, Amber! Really loved the series 😊 And you are so great at all these games! I’ve played almost everything of Hollow Knight, but gave up on Nightmare King Grimm and The Radiance. You made them look manageable, so I’m motivated to try again :)

I know you aren't as much a musical artist as you do dabble in other mediums, but you still love music. There's a composer on YouTube that breakdowns random soundtracks, giving practical and applicable tips and tricks based on the lessons that can be learned from said soundtrack. He did a video on Hollow Knight. He doesn't discuss the game play or story at all, but it's still very enjoyable, and he even improves a little bit of music in the key and tone of the HK soundtrack, which a treat to listen to, like a more sophisticated, adult version of this game's soundtrack. Hollow Knight is truly a special game and I've loved watching your playthrough. There's been many good moments but my favourite was probably when you realised that Millibelle wasn't the legitimate banker you thought she was.

Excited to watch this final episode even though goodbyes can be hard. I've enjoyed this play through immensely, it surely belongs in some kind of Hollow Knight hall of fame πŸ† I can't wait to watch you explore the kingdom of Pharloom once Silksong drops. Another game to keep an eye out for, I think, is Crowsworn. Inspired by Hollow Knight, Bloodborne and Devil May Cry, this game has Amber written all over it.

You make it possible for many people to enjoy things they love even more, and for that, we will never thank you enough. Thank you.

Such an emotional episode, I started watching you with this series and discovered your unique view and commentary and your lovely personality, definitely gonna stick around, thank you

Thank You Amber for this wonderful playthrough. If you never touch Hollow Knight again, that will be perfectly fine because what you have shared so far is so special in and of itself. When you say "I don't know if I've got the skillset... for the Pantheon," I totally understand. I wasn't good enough for the Pantheons either. Especially the last one. Like, for real. I am NOT a good gamer (not nearly as good as you), but I loved this game so much that, periodically, and over the course of two years, I worked my a** off, sometimes yelling at my monitor in frustration (no joke) to finally overcome the Pantheon of Hallownest. It took practice (I have literally hundreds of hours in this game) and serious determination, but let me tell you that if you are committed, you can do it. I PROMISE. And it can be one of the most rewarding experiences in your life. Link out (lolol).

Hear me out, but... you could totally start a new series replaying Hollow Knight. The game has incredible replay value. I've played it through countless times now. I don't think anyone who has played it would judge you negatively for getting more content out of the game this way. Your route through the game will be radically different, and you'll doubtlessly discover little secrets or bits of lore you missed the first time. Even if most of your content is about first-time playthroughs, I would be very excited to see more videos of you playing Hollow Knight and I KNOW I'm not the only one! A little break between series wouldn't be a bad idea, though. If you were to play other games, though I want to selfishly suggest Resident Evil 4, because I've been playing that game since 2005. It's also a classic!

I started watching your channel because of Hollow Knight. It's been awesome to engage with your community and you and I'm glad I found your patreon so I can support you too. Will have to wait until I'm off work to watch this but I can't wait.

I would say try Sekiro next. Not only does it have a storyline and lore that is easier to follow but your skill in parrying in Bloodborne will help you get the hang of Sekiro much faster. Plus it's just a prettier game than the Dark Souls game. Only Eldin Ring beats it in pure aesthetics.
