Today I bring you something I've been cooking up for a long time: my new homebrew class The Specialist! This is a martial class that can fill many roles in a party, from a ranged damage dealer, to the face, to a debuffer. This is a highly customizable class, able to focus on any Ability Score they choose and selecting from a long list of "Signature Techniques" to give them additional tools in and out of combat. Playing a Specialist means thinking carefully about how best to wield your specific skill set for devastating results, which might mean silencing enemy mages, breaking enemy defenses, or just dealing some guaranteed damage when it matters most.

This class is brought to life thanks to some awesome minis by my bud Paper Forge. You know Paper Forge from all of the stellar minis, tokens, and art from the various Team Superhydra collaborations I've been a part of, but if this is your first time discovering their work, get ready to be wowed. Paper Forge releases absolutely gorgeous and immediately usable paper minis and VTT tokens, and other RPG goodies. Wilson and Grond put together three incredible minis representing the Specialist subclasses (Operative, Sleuth, and Spectral Agent), and I think they do a perfect job of depicting the sort of core personality of the class. Especially in this age of digital campaigns, you're going to need lots of minis and tokens, so show Paper Forge some love!
To accompany this Class, I've also recorded a track inspired by it! "The Specialist" (clever right?) is all about methodical intrigue. Inspired by BBC's Sherlock Holmes and the Dishonored series, this track is perfect for your heists, your interrogations, or your seedy crime lord's base. This is music for a rotten city: thieves, murderers, and a bustling underbelly await. Whether you're a member of the Zilargo Trust or Amn's Shadow Thieves, this is your theme song.
I really hope you enjoy the class, the minis, and the track. If you get a chance to play as a Specialist, please let me know how it goes! Playtesting is super valuable, and there's only so much I can do on my own. If you've got any questions at all about mechanics or flavor, drop them in the comments! Also, while the track and minis are for patrons only, the PDF of the class is free for anyone to use, so share it around to anyone interested! Thanks so much!
EDIT: Thanks to some incredibly helpful folks in DM Dave's Discord, I've tweaked a number of small wording and balance issues in the Specialist PDF. Nothing major, but if you downloaded the original version earlier today, grab this one now!
