Sunday Grab Bag: Intense Music, New Adventure, and Quarantine Update

Happy Sunday, y'all! I did one of these "grab bags" last week, and I think I'm going to start doing them more often. A lot of times, I'll have a little bit of music, and a bunch of little goodies and updates to provide, so this seems like the perfect way to get it out all at once.

First up: new track! "Ambush Zencorin" is pure cinematic intensity, replete with Zimmer-esque "bwaaamps," incessant percussion, and thumping bass. Perfect for high stakes moments: combat, chases, or anything else that gets your players' blood pumping. In my campaign, "Zencorin" was a warforged assassin that my players tried to get the upper hand on. They failed of course, but the duel was pretty epic regardless. (Fun fact: the stat block I used for Zencorin was based off of my new homebrew class "The Specialist." Some folks here have had a sneak peak, but I'll be dropping a fully fleshed out version soon enough. Keep your eyes peeled.)

Next up, a brand new adventure from DM Dave! This little side adventure for high level (ideally max level) parties will really test their skills and endurance. It features a beautiful brand new map by my friends Cze and Peku and it comes with some suggested music by me! The adventure "Rain, Lightning, Thunder" is attached below.

Here's awesome news: I just hit 75 patrons! I wrote that once I hit this benchmark, I would prioritize getting that app out to help with playback. That said, I don't think any single person has ever mentioned wanting or even being interested in such an app... Are you? If so, I'm still happy to tackle it, but please let me know if that's something you'd actually use!

Finally, it's hard to talk about anything right now without bringing up Coronavirus. Unsurprisingly, my day-to-day is barely affected at all. I work from home, so basically this just means I'm avoiding the gym. You can still expect the normally updates to Music d20 for the foreseeable future. That said, I know many of you are newly isolated. If you want any tips for work / life balance while sequestered to your home, feel free to reach out! I've been doing it full time since 2017, so I think I've gotten pretty good at it.
