Wandering the Desert
Added 2020-02-12 21:59:11 +0000 UTCLast week I gave you dire tundra music, and this week it's arid desert! In my mind, this tune is that late voyage struggle with exhaustion and dehydration, but it could just as easily be a desert outpost with some none too savory denizens. You'll recognize all the trappings of cinematic "Arabian Nights" style folk music, but I'm particularly happy with how the melodica turned out! I play this thing all the time, but I so rarely end up achieving a sound *on recording* that I'm fond of. I think it's got some pretty swell emotive vibes here.
I've got some other work to tackle right now, but I'll make sure to do a "desert city" variant as soon as I can. Thanks!
EDIT: There were a bunch of pesky problems in the mix for this one that have been bothering me since I originally posted it. I hunkered down and tried to tweak as much as possible this morning, and I think this new version is far superior. These won't be super noticeable unless you're listening for them, but if you feel like redownloading, now is the time to do so!
