Echoes of Light
Added 2019-12-17 21:58:07 +0000 UTCThere are a million different ways to portray the Feywild or other primordial elven "domains." Some versions are dangerous, tricky, and untamed. Others are pristine, elegant, and regal. One thing these portrayals often have in common is a sort of shimmery, illusory, magical property. That's the effect I really wanted to achieve here: this notion of somewhere otherworldly and beyond perception.
In my campaigns, I like the ideas of everyday portals, or "coterminous" locations... a sort of intersection between the material plane and truly bizarre, divine, or primeval locales. This is the music for those areas. This is the music you hear when you first encounter a helpful sprite, or when you enter an enchanted gateway to an eternal forest. Maybe this is music when you finally commune with an elven deity, or perhaps just stroll up to a Rivendell-esque capitol.
How do you guys play the Feywild? Full of dangerous beasts? Or as a more Tolkein-style paradise? I'm always looking for tips!
