Based on having worked in a large corporate environment, I still give him grace. When you have more than a handful of employees, things get really busy and trust becomes currency. Even in small work groups, there are bad apples that manage to charm their way under the radar and create havoc. The alternative is to micromanage to the level of tyranny, and that's both non-productive and exhausting.

2025-04-30 04:13:00 +0000 UTCJust my take, but I noticed that Chef Baek starting getting some flack a couple of years ago, soon after Jin enlisted. Something about franchisees of one of his businesses being unhappy about how they didn't get the amount of profit they expected, which to me is sort of low IQ. Just because you are a MacD's franchise doesn't guarantee success, you have to hustle to make sure that it's clean, the food is good, and that customers are happy. So I thought those complaints were from people looking to make a quick and easy buck. From what I've seen and read, Baek is a champion of small business owners, small farms, and sustainable resources. I suspect that makes him a bit of a target to big business interests that are trying to maximize profits and squeeze out the little guys. Baek seems to be about trying to empower and retain traditional foods and methods. I'm a little worried for Jin's Igin alcohol brand, as it's a partnership with Baek and it's advertised as using locally sourced fruits for flavorings in the products. If there is a question about the ingredients in any way, that would be an avenue of attack on both of them. The guy works as hard and as much as BTS. But like them, he has jealous haters. I really hope that things work out for the best.
