I think that it is true that if for you "success" for your music is to be a "hit" and make all the streaming numbers, etc., then yes, unless you have a huge fanbase that will make it happen, a song like it sounds like this will be will not be a success. On the other hand, if your goal is to make music with a soul, expressing a thought, or emotion, and wanting the listeners to feel or think, then you are intending the audience to be the people who love and care about music, a song such as this sounds to be, will be a success. I remember Jimin talking about what success for FACE would be for him, he said it was if the people who listen to it feel the emotions he was sharing in the music. Sure FACE was also a "success" by the stream/sales metrics, but I think it means more to him that people felt the emotions and shared that with him. Ultimately, If you aren't hurting for money (and I can understand if you are a starving artist wanting a commercial success) I think as an artist you can, and should, define "success" through the artistic measures, not whether it's a streaming/sales success.
