The Anchor!
Added 2024-05-27 20:20:15 +0000 UTCWe recently turned Tally Ho around to work on the bow from the dock - we fitted the bronze anchor-roller, and hung our main anchor on it!
We are using a Rocna Vulcan as our main "hook" - it's a modern anchor with really great holding power for it's weight. We will also carry a traditional fisherman's anchor, which is useful on rocky bottoms and also as a kedge or dredging anchor. We have 330' of 1/2" chain, and another 300' of 1' nylon anchor rode.
....and hopefully soon we will also have a Capstan to manage all this gear!!
