Moving and setting up a new studio!

Hey everyone! You may have seen my Twitter/YouTube community posts mentioning that I'm moving to a new place and also setting up a studio so I can make videos better and faster. Ironically, the process has made videos considerably slower lately, but hopefully not for much longer!

I thought I'd go into some more detail here for anyone who might be interested in what I'm doing. I do plan on making a studio tour of sorts when I have everything set up, but that's probably at least a month away. I also wondered about doing a moving vlog but that might be a little cheesy/off-brand? Let me know in the comments if there's anything in particular you'd like to see. Either way, you'll definitely see some new studio stuff on the channel. I might even throw some Patreon exclusive content in there too.

By new place, I'm actually moving to a whole different country, which is why this process has been so lengthy. Most of you know I'm currently based in Australia, but in just a few short days, I'll have moved to the United States and will be based in California from then on. I know that moving internationally during a global pandemic may not seem like the best idea, but I've been following all the rules and regulations of both countries to do it as safely as possible, and everything has been approved and is ready to go.

The new studio I think will make a huge difference. You might not know (I try my best not to show it), but the space I've been filming in for the past few years is absolutely tiny. Filming takes way more time than you'd expect because I constantly have to take things down and set them up again since there's just not enough space to keep everything up all the time. The new studio space is way bigger and I'll be able to build a permanent filming set so I can film (and stream) way more frequently.

In addition, I'm also planning to hire an editor pretty much as soon as the studio is set up. I'm a really slow editor. It's legitimately the biggest reason videos take so long for me to make. Coupled with other obligations, I just haven't been able to get videos out any faster than I currently do. I'd also just prefer to be able to spend more of my time making and filming cool tech projects, instead of having to spend weeks at a time editing (I'm guessing most of you would prefer that too haha). So by hiring an editor, I think videos will come out MUCH faster than they have so far.

So big changes are coming! Videos should not only be made faster, I think they'll be better too. There have actually been a lot of things I've wanted to do for the channel that I've held off on doing because I knew this move was coming. But after a few days, no longer! I can do a lot the things I've wanted to do for a long time.
