IMPORTANT UPDATE AND CHANGES - May 2023

The months have come and gone and it is now May 2023.

This was supposed to be my last update month, but I after much thought and careful consideration I have decided to not permanently shut down my Patreon page. I have too much built on here as an archive to immediately let it all go, and I still have folks who dedicate time to leaving comments and feedback, people whom I admit I do not want to lose touch with.

However, I am still going to greatly reduce my commitment to timely updates and schedule. Moving forward my involvement with this site will not be as dedicated.

((tl;dr: I am turning Patreon into a tip jar and am no longer committing to monthly updates. I will also begin uploading secret stash and sketchdump art everywhere else, and moving forward the only exclusive content provided here will be variants, alternate versions of artwork and higher res images. If you want the specific details of what that entails then keep reading.))

So, what happens now?

The following points will address what specifically will change moving forward:

- Secret Stash, Sketchdumps and other $5 Extras Tier content will no longer be exclusive. One thing that has caused me a lot of grief is the amount of content that I created for this page is content I could have used to effectively promote it. I do not think the Extras Tier model brought in as many folks as I had thought it would. for exclusive stuff, it's better to tease things with the full picture and let people know exactly what they are getting, and that they are getting a bit more.

- Each tier will still grant certain benefits:

WIP tiers = access to first look and commentary Extras tier = access to WIP tier, exclusive variants and higher res images

- Exclusive content is now limited to alternate versions of drawings, first looks and additional commentary. So in a way, we still keep Patrons in high regard by allowing some form of exclusivity to be rewarded for your support. This will be in the form of alternate variants of drawings (raunchier, more messy versions and stuff), higher res images than I would normally post in any other gallery, and uploading art here before anywhere else.

- Block Devil art will not be archived exclusively in Patreon. In addition to providing exclusive content, Patreon unknowingly became my defacto art portal in the absence of Tumblr. This was an unintentional side effect of not having a a place where my art is conveniently archived (something twitter absolutely sucks at. PLEASE NOTE that this is specifically referring to all artwork made for Sketchdumps and Secret Stash, and not variants and high res images.  - In order to give my art a new home I have opened an Itaku account which you can follow here. I'll be posting archived work there for now in an effort to preserve what I have done so far. I also have started a cohost account and plan to update my very sad and lonely Pixiv account in the future. This will be a dedicated effort and will probably not be a fast one, so I apologize in advance.

- Posts will no longer be on a fixed monthly based schedule. This is the biggest change moving forward. I need everyone to fully understand: I can no longer commit to a scheduled monthly delivery on Patreon, so I am converting this business model into what is essentially a tip jar. By paying monthly you are supporting my work and gaining access to exclusive content, but you are not entitled to timely updates. I'm going to make sure this is clearly expressed in both tiers for future patrons.

Feel free to message me with whatever thoughts, comments, feedback you may have and I will try to make myself available as much as I can for the next few days.   My apologies if these changes are not in line with your expectations for your patronage, but as time goes on I find it more and more difficult to manage this page on top of all of my life's commitments (and frankly I am tired of sounding like a broken record about that).   My true intent was basically to let go of all this, shut it down quietly and never look back, but I do not like tearing down things I built. If you want to end your support now is the time to do so as these changes are effective immediately. I will not take it personally.
