To Discord or not to Discord

Hey!
Hope you are having a great time ^^.

I am considering  creating a Discord server (like a lot of other creators are apparently doing) and I was wandering how many of you would be interested in this happening ^^.

I am still not entirely sure what exactly I'll use it for but if you have any suggestion don't hesitate ;) .

Yeah the fact that it may be time consuming is probably my biggest problem in all that. I think one of it's main purpose will be as a kind of backup and other way to share easily. And I'm not really a socialiser but I think I'll be happy to have one easy place to have some conversations with people that likes what I do ^^. I have to do a +/- board XD. Thank you for your feedbacks ;) . Well today was a bit strange and tomorrow is my "real" working day but after that, Week-End!! Hope you are having a good day too ^^.

Yeah, he does raise some good points. It takes a lot of work, depending on the people involved of course, to keep it active, which does mean more work for you. Most of the active patron discord communities that I find have shifted from the love of the art to the love of the person. User results may very of course cuz were not all in the same groups. You wanna give it a go, I'll be there. Though before you do it, you might wanna at least think about what the discord will do for you that is not happening here to make sure your not putting time and effort into something some will consider a gimmick. Sorry if it was a bit scatter brained, just finished a 12 hour day. In any event, thank you for sharing your talents with us. Hope you have an amazing day.

Ok thanks for your feedbacks, it definitely helps ^^. There is some real good points here...

Chris Crawford made a good speech. I vote: Don't care. Because I think it isn't so important to have one more Discord server: there are so many of them already. But if you still decide to start a Discord server, that wouldn't hurt anybody neither. Maybe I even start to idle there by myself too.. Server or not, your work is still amazing! ^^

I have been a participant in a number of Discord conversations and they always die out after a few months. I suspect that the discussions on your server will last longer, but I fear that the discussions will break down into the following categories: 1. "Garsh, I really love your latest images!" [praise] 2. "You should have made her lips purple." [crazy suggestions] 3. "So when will you be doing X?" [requests for deadlines] There's another danger: the aficionados will dominate the discussions, while the average patron won't participate, leading you to a skewed impression of patron's desires. Tough decision. Good luck.
