I love this episode for the reasons you mentioned. Some people enjoy the characters, some the directing, I enjoy sci-fi for what it is sci fi and the moral dilemmas that come with it. Teaches a lot and demonstrates that there always can be a positive outcome to seemingly no win situations. You just gotta think outside the box.
