I do feel the book they adapted this season from did a better job of telling the story. In books, you don't have to worry about making sure your actors have enough to do to keep them under contract.

2024-06-07 03:37:14 +0000 UTCThe setting of this season sadly can't compete as much as the other seasons did. Coming after S3, it had pretty much no chance to reach that high. What I still liked about this season were specific character moments. And I'm also alright with the separation of stories and characters; this way, they can flesh out the developments that are going on in such a big world. If you don't have this, you can't really complain if the depiction of the big world becomes lackluster in the end. They need to keep track of what is going on elsewhere because it sets the tone for what is to come. And all settings, be it Mars, which they tell through Bobby, Earth, which they tell through Avaserala, or the Belt, show you what is going on in the entire solar system and with each faction. They don't focus on it directly; for Mars, they just use Bobby to show it through her eyes, but without it, you would just wonder later how everything ended up here. Its necessary and of if you are a fan of that kind of information and is it still called world building? Anyway, if you like those information you have enough positives to take away from that. For example see Mars crumble through the news and how they put their ultimate dream - the terraforming of Mars - to bed, step by step. The difficulties a lose faction like the belt has to deal with and the even mundaine problems/ shifts on Earth. But no doubt for me season 4 is the weakest season, because the others offer a more space focused setting which I just like more.
