2023-12-05 03:20:25 +0000 UTCIt's more a case of re-shuffling. The original intention was the telepaths would come on-board during the Earth civil war, and would be mostly b-plot in the background during that. So it was trimmed to streamline one section, only to be promoted to the forefront later.

He obviously was only created to fill a gap in storytelling because they didn't believe a 5th season would ever come and fired all their ammunition in 4th season. As has been said before: Season 5 takes a while to find its footing but it will definitely get better.

2023-11-19 01:44:15 +0000 UTCJMS was in a cult as a young man. It was part of his falling-out with religion when he realized it was a scam and the leaders corrupt. The song at the end here is a lot like the "love-bombing" he said they'd do. I think it's a misstep in the directing of the episode that they make it seem nice, and not more manipulative and creepy as I think was intended.
