The Blacklist 4x1 Reaction

Comments

This episode was classic "Red being Red". What a season opener. But oh so many points to adress. So many misdeads and frustrations with some of the characters: Kaplan: Where should I start? she seriously messed up. The problem I had with her was not that she helped Liz fake her death (well, that's not totally true, she totally crossed the line there, in a matter of speaking) but the way she went at it. It wasn't just the act but the timing and circumstance. She thought she was protecting Liz from Red, but the fact was, the one who went and attacked her wedding was not Red, it was Rostov. When did Kate become so unawareup to not making sure the threat was handled with *before* she sent Liz and her family to a place she cannot protect her from? why was she stupid now? if Constantin was not in the picture and she did that, then sure, I guess I can see the point, but she wasn't only betraying Red, but she was also extremely neglectful about it. There is a reason why you work for red and not WITH him. "Raymond, you have to change". Abso-fricking-lutely! but he cannot. The fact that she thought she could "educate" him without it returning to bite her in the *** is almost hilariously insane. Reddington: I can really see how awfully betrayed he feels. That was totally uncalled for and unpredictable. But he does have to take Kate's words to heart, even WITH her betrayal. If your daughter (biological or not, we still cannot say for sure at this point now can we) feels like she has to FAKE HER DEATH for you to leave her alone, then it means you have to do some serious thinking and to back off. "Tell me to go, Lizzie", he said to her in 1x07. Well, in this action, she pretty much did. He has to leave her alone unless she directly apologizes to him and asks for him to take her in, in one way or another. Samar: I love Samar, but how unprofessional she was in that episode. It shouldn't matter if Liz killed her favorite dog, even. First fill the mission, then don't talk to her ever again. But it's your duty to give your team a hand in such a mission, and let the personal conflicts surface AFTER it's all said and done. Not to mention, Agnes is part of all this, too. She should REALLY apreciate Cooper for letting her off the hook like that. Any other boss would her fired her all the way to next week. Also, I don't understand why she took it so personally, either. Isn't she supposed to be a Mossad agent? Mossad folk do much worse to survive. She acts like a teenage girl who found out her BFF is gossiping about her with the pupular girl in school. Girl, get a grip. Aram: Have nothing to say about you. You're such a sweetheart.
