Ok, so after going through the reaction, I gotta say it didn't surprise me at all you figured it out before the end of the episode. Lotte Verbeek (Katarina) is a great actress, and her chemistry with James was so palpable. All around the episode you can spot certain 'easter eggs' hinting of what's really going on. First of, of course, Cape May (It really is a town in NJ), Red told Liz in "Lady Ambrosia" that her mother walked in to the ocean in Cape May and "was never seen again". Without overly revealing anything, let me just say that this place she chose to end her life at is not random. At the restaurant, after Katarina walked into the restroom, the guy walking in used a payphone. Payphones are not common at all nowdays, heavily hinting that this incident is either not happening for real or that if it actually DID, it's not happening now, When Red carries her out to rest near the fire if you pay good attention you can see them falling asleep at the same time. Other things she says also hint it heavily... her mourning about 'him' and what she said before 'he' died (hinting to Liz's father). saying her child is raised by other people etc. Terrific episode with such deep message. You can't say we didn't warn you! You're gonna be glad to find out that from here, basically up until s4 and even season 5, you enter a period in the series where it all goes batshit crazy. Cape May is the door from which you pass from the world of "that's cool" to the universe of "Wuuuuuut?" so brace yourself! :)

I absolutely love the way your mind works... your thoughts at the end were most intriguing, the knowing and not knowing at the same time... but most definitely a re- watch episode.. a most pivotal episode to remember... like you said, was it fake or was it all real, just not happening as we saw it.. yes Sir, please watch again.. and enjoy the rest of your Sunday🙂
