I feel like he did what he told him he was going to do. Yes they made them look BAD however they did slip some info in that was useful like the home burned down and his father is missing. Kind of giving him a update on his dad. Remember they have lots of people screening what they show and if they don't make it look the party line nothing would air and they would not get any info out.
