The Originals 1x7 Reaction

Comments

The real problem is that everything about Klaus' past and Elijah's and Rebekah's experiences with Klaus tells them that he is indeed very capable of doing something like that... Hurting and even USING his "loved ones", even blood family, is something that he routinely has done (and continues to do)... The only real argument would be if Klaus is really capable of using his own child like that, but the reality is that he could do something like that with minimal to no damage to the baby, and like Mega said, he could use the excuse that he is doing it for the child's own benefit; he is a pro when it comes to rationalizing horrible deeds to loved ones Also, there is something that always strikes me as odd about people's reaction to these events... Elijah doesn't actually "blindly accuses" Klaus of anything; in fact, the whole point of it is that Elijah, instead of taking Hayley away from Klaus (which is what he would have done if he fully believed it to be true), he went there to confront Klaus and ask for his side and Klaus was extremely defensive from the get go... And I'm sorry but Elijah's reasons and arguments are 100% correct... We know that Klaus cares about the baby, but it isn't so apparent to anyone else who doesn't happen to have a 3rd person view of the character inner thoughts like we tend to have as viewers; the only things that Klaus has said about the baby paint him and his intentions on a pretty terrible light... Elijah put it well: He treats Hayley like "a walking incubator", he is dismissive, uncaring and even disrespectful towards her... just look at the things he says about her this episode, about the mother of the child who is the most important person in a child's life, specially in the early years... And all of his comments about the baby, about the baby's future and his view of her, has all been in relation to how the baby fits into his "world domination" and power hungry plans... It ain't no lie... Specially for those who know how this season goes; he has and is currently putting his own selfish desires for power OVER THE CHILD'S SAFETY... Once the link between Hayley and the witches was broken (which was ALL Elijah, and he is the one who made it a priority and not Klaus), if Klaus' priority was really the baby he would've packed everything and left for a quiet place to have the baby in peace; but instead he wants to be KING

The only reason doppleganger blood is needed for Klaus to make hybrids is because Esther spelled it that way. The baby's blood is naturally occurring so that's why it works differently

Haha very true. I think if you look up "wild card" in a dictionary you'll probably find a picture of Klaus Mikaelsons face🀣 I'm off to bed now. Will watch your tvd reaction during breakfast 😁 thanks again for the reactions!

Fair enough but from what I have seen of Klaus he is a bit of a wild card.

Mega Reacts

You make a good point with the "in his mind to protect his child". I could see that. But it wouldn't be for selfish reasons like a power grab for his own gain. And that's what Hailey and Elijah were very strongly implying.

I don't think he knew about the baby bloods ability but I also think he would use it to in his mind protect his child by making an army of hybrids. He can't help himself.

Mega Reacts

Gotta defend Klaus here. Yes, he has done awful, selfish deeds over the course of his life but I am 100% convinced that even if he'd known (at least at this point in the story...)about the baby's blood (which he didn't- just look at his face when Elijah made those accusations) he wouldn't have used its powers for selfish reasons. You can tell that he loves this child so much already. And when Elijah accused him of knowing about it and only wanting this baby for its blood- just look at the hurt on his face (Joseph played that brilliantly! ). Ever since Elijah returned (after being daggered by Klaus) Klaus has been trying to make up for it. Just last episode when he was about to kill Agnes and Elijah demanded for him to stop. The old Klaus wouldn't have hesitated for even a second and would have just snapped her neck but there Klaus actually complied. So I totally get why Klaus felt hurt. And of course, as we all know Klaus doesn't handle emotions well (lol), so he did something very Klaus like and bit Elijah. And now he is spiraling again (old Klaus is back :D ). Yay, I'm pleased that you like Davina's and Josh's friendship. I think they fit together perfectly (in a girl and her gay best friend kind of way). Can't wait for you to see what happens next :)
