The Mentalist 3X3: The Blood on His Hands
Added 2025-08-11 21:51:31 +0000 UTCHmmm. It seems like they are really trying to make us think that Stiles might be Red John. Which, is why I assume he's not. But he knows way too much. How did that happen?
The cult is back! Our Jane Doe is found dead with a tattoo of the Visualize logo on her back. While we're trying to figure this out, Jane gets a call from someone in the missing person's unit claiming that Kristina was on a TV call in show the other day. He plays the recording for Jane and he confirms that it was her. They trace the call and Jane zooms over to the house, but all they find was Red John's smiley face and a doll.
While we're waiting for more information about Kristina, we head back to Visualize to chat with Stiles about the dead girl. They, of course, claim he's unavailable but Jane pretty much tricks one of the younger members of the staff into finding out where he is. He's speaking to a crowd and Jane interrupts and the two of them chat in his office. Stiles is confused and surprised when Jane starts talking about the dead girl since he assumed Patrick was there to talk about Kristina. He claims that he would love to help take down Red John, but doesn't really seem to have much info to help.
We do find out that dead girl had a finance so we go talk to him. He's a chef, but has family money (he's also got Visualize's lawyer with him during the conversation). They find out that he hardly knew the dead girl, as it was an arranged marriage by the cult.
Jane riffles through some of the dead girls books and finds out that she had some doubts about the cult. So, Rigsby and Grace meet with a friend of her's who got out. She's very hesitant to talk as she feels like the cult just finally stopped harassing her. But, she tells them that dead girl wanted out, but felt like she couldn't stay sober without them (she was an addict and they helped her get clean). Also, every week they have to record all their confessions and apparently, dead girl confessed she was having an affair with someone high up in the cult and wanted to come clean since she was marrying chef guy.
When they leave, they realize they are being followed. They assume it's the cult, but when they try to pull them over, they end up getting hit by them. Turns out, it's not Visualize, but the FBI, who is also investigating Visualize.
We find out that the FBI has a plant in the cult, so Jane heads over to figure out who it was. He figures if he can get access to dead girl's tapes, they can figure out who killed it. And the Jane plan is pretty unsophisticated. He tells this to Stiles and he 'agrees' to hand over the tapes. The lawyer protests too much and we know it was him. He confesses and cuts a deal for three years (for killing a girl- fucking bullshit) in exchange for giving the FBI info on the cult. However, where they are bringing him to jail, the fiancé shows up and shoots him for killing his girl (I'm not sure if he lived or not). But fiancé is super chill about it. He feels like god wanted him to this and he's happy to go to jail for it.
Finally, Patrick gets a call to meet up with Stiles who hands him a note from Red John. It's an address and we all go over, guns blazing and find Kristina in an abandoned house. But, she's pretty much catatonic. She isn't moving or speaking. No one can get through to her. Finally, Jane tries a seance of sorts and that seems to work. But, she claims she's dead. Patrick tries to explain to her that she's not, but she says he's in denial. She doesn't know who killed or, or even that Red John existed. She's happy in the afterlife. Patrick blows out the candle and that's it.
I'm not sure what's going on with Kristina. She's obviously alive, but she doesn't think so. There's got to be so much trauma that maybe when she heals a little bit, we can try talking to her again. But, ugh, that must have been hard for Jane to see her like that.
