Hello, hello. Happy Sunday.
You guys. I've been gone for so long. I don't remember anything I last reacted to. Tomorrow is gonna be fun (read confusing). But also, I am really excited to get back to it, which is something I haven't felt in a while. I so needed a bit of a break, even if I didn't know it.
So, I sat down yesterday and did math (🤢). It looks like we're about 10 weeks away from 3 shows ending. True Blood (which I do not plan to replace), The Fosters (which I'm unsure about, my sister-in-law told me there was a spinoff show which I'm intrigued about), and Prison Break (which I plan to replace since it's a Patreon exclusive). But, however it works out, when True Blood ends, prices for Novel go down. From $10/month to $8/month.
What I'm doing now is not sustainable for me. I'm charging a decent amount, I know, but I've also been offering a lot of content, so I think it balances itself out. However, it's crushing me. Currently I'm thinking about doing The Fosters spin off at 2X/week and lowering the Book Stack price down to $12/month. I'm not 100% sure yet. I just know I need to do less and therefore, charge less.
I've also been dabbling into some BookTube stuff. I'm the girl who reads all the things. And I LOVE watching all the book girlies. I am nothing like them, but it could be fun. This won't take anything away from Patreon, but it's still fun to talk about.
And, speaking of reading, I read a fanfic the other day based in the world of I Kissed a Boy. I do not watch reality TV. Ever. (Unless it's Alone. I fucking love Alone). But, I was so intrigued by the premise that I watched the entirety of the show over the weekend. Eek. They have a third season, but I have no idea when. Give it to me now! You guys. S2 Ruben. I 100% get why everyone (literally everyone) talked about how hot he was. Holy shit.
I also read Uglies by Scott Westerfeld over the weekend. Mostly I read it because I'd seen a lot of bad reviews about it. But, the premise was so interesting I wanted to see for myself. Spoiler alert (if you don't wanna wait for the BookTube video, which might never show up), it was fucking awful. AWFUL.
My mom was here last week. She's my favorite person in the world. And I only see her once or twice a year, so it was lovely. We really had an amazing time. She asked me to bring her to 'hip' coffee shops so she could try 'cool new fun young people drinks.' And then chickened out the first time when it was time for her to order. The second time she ordered a latte and felt so cool! She thought it was beautiful (they did some art in it), but was let down by the taste. She didn't seem to know that latte meant milk. 🤣 She did express jealousy when she saw people walking out with hot pink and hot green drinks, but we both know she would have hated those. We're both hot coffee and tea people. I also got some really good life advice from her. She's so good at that.
Totally off topic, but by BFF is planning to meet some her internet friends in Vegas this month (she lives in SC). I'm so happy for her. As someone who has met her internet friends in real life (Hi, Kelly!), I'm so excited! But also, if she hates them (which we do not anticipate), she's still in Vegas. It seems like a win/win.
I guess that's it. As always, let me know if I messed up the schedule. I mess it up a lot when I'm not out of practice. I can only imagine how bad it might be now. 😳
