The Fosters 4X10: Collateral Damage

You guys, I got heated watching this episode. I yell. A lot. WTF are you doing Callie? Just because you spoke to a guy doesn't make him safe to get in a car with!

Anyway, we're all going to this festival and Callie asks the family to help her get signatures for a new bill for foster care. They all agree and we're talking about the festival when Brandon gets an email from Juilliard. You guys, I had no idea how emotionally invested I was in this until he found out he got in and I cried. Lol.

Mariana got a D on a paper (hey, that teacher is back!) and is freaking out about how it's going to tank her GPA, so she convinces her teacher to let her rework it over the weekend. So, she's at home, on Jesus's pills, getting calls from Nick telling him he's home with an ankle monitor, trying to work on the paper, and losing her mind. Jesus tries to help. He tells her to just tell Nick it's over. She claims she will, but she can't now. So, Jesus takes the helm and heads over to Nick's. He tells her Mariana doesn't want to see him anymore. She's afraid of him.

At the festival, we're working on getting signatures and we find out Justina's camp is doing the same thing for their bill. Callie has also set up a jar to collect money for Kyle's legal fund (I think that's what it's for) and a guy stops by to tell her she shouldn't have that up since Martha was his aunt and he KNOWS Kyle is the murderer. Callie tries to reason with him, but he signs the petition and leaves.

AJ and Aaron have it out over Aaron's flirting with Callie (somewhat inappropriate knowing she has a boyfriend, yeah- flirting, eh). Jude runs into Noah and they scamper off to go get high. And Sophia is here! I was wondering why she randomly got dropped into this episode, but her uncanny likeness to Callie makes for a good storyline.

The guy who Callie stole the toothbrush from is here and scoping out Callie. Or so he thinks. Turns out, he's gotten Callie and Sophia mixed up. And when Sophia comes out of the bathroom stall, he starts yelling at her asking whey she's watching him. She has no idea what he's talking about and tries to tell him she's not, but he won't accept it. Thankfully, a woman enters the bathroom and starts yelling at the guy and Sophia is able to escape.

However, Stef seemed to notice creepy guy was watching and had been following him. But Jesus and Emma show up and tell her Mariana is missing. The medication and her mental state are causing her to hallucinate and she thinks she's seeing Nick. Jesus tried to find her on his own, but it seems like it's finally time to let Stef in. Jesus calls Nick to ask if he's here at the festival. And when he finds out Mariana's missing, he cuts off his ankle bracelet and heads over.

We're all looking for Mariana now and Callie runs into the guy who was made about the Kyle jar. he apologizes and Callie accepts. She asks if he's seen Mariana (also, I love that everyone's first description of her is how short she is) and he claims he saw her get into a car and if they hurry, he thinks they can catch them. So, Callie, like an idiot, gets in this dude's car. What is she thinking? Yes, I know. Help Mariana. But at the expense of yourself? If you're dead, you can't help anyone.

While in the car, she gets a call from Aaron telling her the DNA results are in (why does it never happen this fast in other shows) and it's not the curb painter. But, it is a male relative of Martha's. And who are we in the car with? Oh, could it possibly be a male relative of Martha's? One who might be pissed that this teenage girl is trying to out him for his murder?

Elsewhere, Nick finds Mariana wandering around dazed. He tries to talk to her, but she's busy freaking out. She's screaming and crying, and generally just a mess. She finally lets out all the stuff in her head. Screaming about how he's made her afraid of everything. She's not sleeping, afraid to be in her own house. Then, Jesus and Emma roll up and he and Nick get into it. They start wailing on each other. And then, Stef gets there; just as Nick hits Jesus with a punch that knocks him out. (And he's supposed to be on light duty, since he's at risk for seizures after the nail in his brain). Stef is screaming at Nick and calling 9-1-1.

Oh, and in addition to all this, Brandon got his offer from Juilliard rescinded when they found out he took the SAT for that kid. Which, in any other episode, would be devastating. However, with Callie kidnapped, Mariana losing her mind, Jesus knocked, and Stef going to IA about the shooting with Mike (yeah, I didn't even get into any of the Stef stuff so much happened in this episode); Brandon's issue is practically nothing more than dropping an ice cube on the floor. (That was a weird analogy, but let's just go with it, I'm too tired to think of a better one).

Holy shit, you guys. This episode was intense.
