Virgin River 2X9: Hazards Ahead

OMG. If this show gives me Mel and Jack and then takes them away one more time, I'm totally going to lose my shit. I want to say this time feels different, but I also feel like I've been burned too much already.

So Jack is out searching to see if Spencer is okay (yes, I had to look up his name), but instead he wanders across a guy who busted his shoulder after he'd been out in the elements for days. He calls Mel and she meets them at the office. But, while he's there, Mel takes the opportunity to tell Jack to let the Spencer thing go and call the cops.

Jack does no such thing and goes out in search of Spencer. He finds his trailer empty, but Brady and Jimmy happen to be driving by and wander over and knock him out. They bring him to Calvin. After he threatens him a bunch, Calvin seems to let him go.

However, during this time, Mel is freaked out that she can't find him (she knows he'd been having issue with the pot farm). Finally, she caves and goes to Charmaine's to see if he's there. He's not, but she's willing to come with her to get directions to the farm.

After, Mel drops Charmaine off, and she finds out about her thinking about moving away. She begs her to not take the kids away from Jack. But, Charmaine also says she thinks she's done with Jack. He obviously doesn't love her. And what if she stays here in hopes he might some day and he never does. FINALLY!

Preacher calls Mel to tell her that Jack is back. She hurries over to the batting cage and they chat a bit. Eventually, she confesses that she loves him (and lists all the things she loves about him). She claims she was afraid of getting her heart hurt, but when she thought he was hurt today, it seemed like she realized it was going to be hurt anyway, so she might as well enjoy the god parts of it. The kiss, happily, for a good long while. Long enough to satisfy me. IF

Elsewhere, Doc sets off for Seattle for a doctor conference (lies). Hope seems to know this isn't actually what he's doing. She asks around and finds out Muriel is also in Seattle. But, when she comes home, he's at the house that is covered in candles and is super romantic and asks her to marry him (again). She plays the voicemail that shows Muriel met him at a restaurant in Seattle. He tries to explain but she doesn't let him and leaves. Boo. Hope. You have to know this is a misunderstanding, right? This kinds are SO frustrating in TV.

And Lizzie manages to manipulate Ricky again. (Although, to be fair, he seems perfectly happy to be manipulated). They have sex (he seems happier about it than she does, but that clocks for a first time for both of them). He heads to the kitchen to get beverages and is confronted to Connie who isn't supposed to be home. She doesn't love what's going on here. Ha.
