Are they really going to make me feel bad for Klaus now? Don't get me wrong. I fucking love Klaus. But he's a horrible person (creature? entity? being?). And now I hate his dad so much, that I think I almost understand how Klaus ended up like this.

So, this was another great episode. Elijah has left Cami in charge of slowly nursing Klaus back to health (after he removed the dagger). She's feeding him bits of her blood and making sure he gets enough rest. But he's super pissed and read to get moving on killing Rebekah and Marcel. To pass the time, he fills Cami (and us) on the events of 1919 and why he's pissed as hell and ready to kill his sister.

Turns out, they were happy. All three of them. They built up New Orleans exactly how they wanted it. The witches, vampires, werewolves, and shady cops were all in harmony. Everyone was getting along. Klaus had found out about Rebekah and Marcel and rather than causing a scene, he wished them well. So they were free to stop sneaking around. But, it's been 6 months since the dead witch did the spell to summon her dad. They hope that the spell just didn't work since all is well with Klaus now.

But, we're not that lucky. He shows up just as Rebekah heads out and introduces himself to Marcel. Claiming he wants no part in hurting Rebekah (she's his favorite), he demands to know where her brothers are. He finds Elijah first and threatens to kill him if he doesn't help him kill Klaus. And Elijah refuses. He tells his dad that he will pick Klaus over him every single time. Dad grabs tickets to the opera (where they are all headed), the white oak stake, and goes in search of Klaus.

He find him pretty quickly at the opera and threatens him with the stake. Klaus tells him he can kill him. He's finally happy. He's made New Orleans a success. The people here revere him and dad can't take that away from him. He can die content. But, then, dad says after he kills Klaus, he'll also kill everyone in New Orleans who knows his name, so once he's dead, it will be like he never existed. Klaus is way less interested in that.

But, now the opera is starting. Or, at least Mikael's version of it. He's got Marcel and some other people string up on stage with blood all over them. He's turned this into his own perverse puppet show. Rebekah tries to cut Marcel down and so does Klaus, but to no avail. Elijah shows up and tries to help, but Mikael is about to burn down the theatre will all of them inside, so they need to go. Both brothers are very concerned for Rebekah, and while she tries to apologize and blames herself, Klaus takes the blame. (Since, you know, he's not actually his father's son and he's totally responsible for that. 🙄). Regardless, they flee New Orleans and have been gone ever since.

In the present, Rebekah and Marcel are trying to figure out how to get away from Klaus. They know it's futile, so they decide to bring Davina back and have her spell them into hiding. Good plan, but Celeste is busy making up her own plan. She lures Elijah into the cemetery and makes sure he's stuck there to watch Klaus (whose got the white oak stake) kill Rebekah. However, she decides it's time to jump into a new body, but unbeknownst to her, Elijah and Monique have worked up a spell to get Celeste back in her original body. And once she's in it, Elijah kills her.

Rebekah finds her way into the cemetery when she and Marcel are getting Davina. It's not until they try to leave that she realizes she's trapped. She forces Marcel to take Davina and make sure she's okay.

And it's about this time when a mostly rejuvenated Klaus stalks into the cemetery himself, screaming for Rebekah to come out so he can kill her.

Oh and it looks like Celeste has made a potion to break the curse on the werewolves. There was a lot more that went into that, but this description is already long and I still have another two to write right now.
