How is this show so good and no one I know has watched it? It's criminal.
Okay, so Philip and Elizabeth are still at odds about what to do with Paige. Elizabeth has taken over and is no longer keeping Philip in the loop about what she's doing. He had to find out from Paige that her mom has been talking with her about activism and how she could do more for the movement. His very unhappy, but Elizabeth is very matter of fact about how she told him she was going to do it, and she is.
Over at the FBI, the new guy that talks too much, has discovered Martha's recording device in Gaad's pen. They immediately start to sweet the office and she runs to the lady's room to destroy any evidence she might have on her. No one catches her with anything, but she's a wreck. Especially when she dragged into a room when Gaad and some other officer. I'm sure she thought they were going to question her, but they just asked her to pull files of people who have been in Gaad's office.
For whatever reason, Philip decides he should stop by Martha's. And she's so shaken she asks if they can go to his apartment. But, as soon as they get there, she decides she's sick and asks him to take her home. I'm not sure if this is about her wanting to make sure Clark actually has an apartment, making sure she has a safe place to go if she gets in trouble, or just wanting to get out of her house. But, either way, she does not seem settled.
Philip ends up going back home and crawling into bed with Elizabeth. It's been a while since we've seen them with a decent degree of intimacy, but she grabs his arm and curls it around her. He decides to confide in her about his son. The other one. Elizabeth seems mildly curious, but not much more than that. She certainly doesn't seem upset.
Then we get the badassery of the episode. We're using Ncgobo (yes I had to look up his name and how to spell it) as bait to capture some other guy they want (I forget who this guy is, but I think he's the guy who's planning to attack to discredit the anti-apartheid movement). As the guy is coming in to meet with Ncgobo, Philip intercepts him (after signaling to Elizabeth). They get into a fight in the street. Elizabeth shoots a lady in the head (no idea who she was) and zooms around the the van to the front of the diner, where she hits the guy with the van. She and Philip get him in and she drives away just as Ncgbob and the kid he's with climb into the back. This scene was so fucking good. And the song was perfect.
I'm really kind of annoyed that I don't watch the next episode for two days. I really wanna see the conclusion to this!
