Virgin River 2X2: Taken By Surprise

So we pick up right where we left off, with Mel being held at knifepoint by this guy who apparently wants drugs. She tries to tell him that they don't keep the drugs he wants in the office, but he refuses to believe her. Thankfully, Jack happens to be coming by to talk to Mel and he can hear her screaming. He breaks down the door and saves the day. However, in the fight, Mel twists her ankle and can't walk, so Jack takes her home.

We hop over to Paige's and find that Wes has been back for less than a day and has already beaten the shit out of her. What the fuck, asshole. He tells her they are leaving, but she doesn't want to. However, he tells her that if she fucks with him things will get even worse for her.

After convincing everyone (somehow), Mel helps Charmaine and Jack move Charmaine into Hope's guest room. Neither of them want to be around the other, but they all sort of (very poorly) dealing with it. Hope is excited at the prospect of getting Jack back into her life and is dismayed when he tells her that right now, he can't trust her.

Things are sort of getting better over at Paige's. She and Wes are continuing to fight about leaving and he reminds her that she's technically has no say here. Since he lied about everything, she's a fugitive and he can just turn her in whenever he wants. He starts to go after Christopher and while fighting with him about it, DoucheCanoe ends up falling down the stairs and dying. Huzzah! (Well, it's bittersweet because now Paige has to figure out how to deal with this). She calls Preacher who hurries over.

When he gets there, she tells him she's got to turn herself in and would he please take care of Christopher while she's in jail. But he tells her that once she's arrested, Christopher will be become a ward of the state and he won't be able to help. The only thing she can do to keep Christopher safe is to run. Again. She knows how to start a new life, she's just going to have to do it again. He tells her he'll take care of the dead body at the house, but she's got to go.

Mel is trying to keep the peace between Charmaine and Hope, but it's not going that well. When Jack shows up with Charmaine's medicine, she can see that things are awkward between the two of the and tries to talk to Jack about it, but he's not talking.

Later, Mel heads over to the bar to talk to Jack about their 'relationship.' She apologizes for both leaving and coming back without saying anything. But, she's still hesitate to move forward with their relationship. She doesn't think she can handle losing him, if it came to that. He tries to tell her he loves her, but she is frustrated that he doesn't seem to understand how hard it is for her. She tries to leave, but her car won't start, so Jack, once again, comes to her rescue and brings her home.

Somehow, I'm not really sure how, but they end up in bed together. But please, Mel, do not regret this in the morning. Jack is so good for you (and to you). Let yourself have this. I beg of you.
