OMG I hate it. But I also love it. Arrg. I'm so annoyed that I do not get a follow up to this for 5 days! Also, I think I watched a lot of the end of this hiding behind my hands. I was both afraid of and anxious for what might happen. Lol.
So, it's the wedding day. And apparently, we're going through with it. The preparations have taken over the town square and it's a little over the top if you ask me. Plus, after all the shit she put him through, Lemon has the nerve to wake up George, on their wedding day, and give him chores to do. And he just goes along with it. These two so do not need to be together.
Anyway, Zoe and George run into each other in the square and they made awkward chit chat. Until Zoe informs him that she's actually planning on staying in BlueBell for good. That seems to have thrown George for a loop. She heads off and Lavon shows up complaining that the swans are a liability (Yeah, there are just swans roaming around. And swans are vicious.) George is sure this is just a ploy to get them to cancel the wedding since he thinks Lavon is in love with Lemon and ignores him.
Shortly after, Tom tells Lavon that he's knees ache (which everyone knows means a killer storm is coming). Lavon again tells George that he's got to do something about things, and again George assumes he's jealous. Later, when George shows up at the square, he sees everything is being packed up and put away. He's told Lavon pulled their permit. George storms over to Lavon's to tell him off. And Lavon tells him it's too dangerous to the town. And just then, the skies open up.
Over at Lemon's she's woken up with a pimple and is miserable (🙄). Then someone spills a mimosa on her dress (why is her dress near the food?). Then the storm starts. The girls try to hide it from her for as long as possible, but she finds out and freaks out.
Zoe is over in Mobile (after telling Lavon she was going to try to stop the wedding, he sent her away) and is called by Lavon telling her to go pick up Wade whose truck broke down. He's still pissed with her, but she's really trying her best to make it up to him. They too, get stuck in the storm and seek refuge in a nearby barn.
They eventually have a fight in which Zoe accuses him of just being mad at her because he has feelings for her and she didn't feel the same. He gets pissed and leaves. Then comes back and tells her he was just confused because she's the only girl who didn't want to sleep with him. And had they just had sex, all would be fine between them. It seems like they might test that theory when the cops show up and escort them home.
Back in BlueBell, George has the whole town helping him move the wedding to the firehouse. At first it seems like it's going okay, but the storm is making the roof leak. The band is stuck in an elevator. George's brother and flower girl can't get to town. Something ate the cake. Literally everything has could have gone wrong, has. Eventually, George finds himself standing in the pouring rain asking Lavon why no one told him that Zoe was staying.
He goes to see Lemon and finally tells her that the wedding is off. He says that had the wedding happened today, he would been faithful to her, but that's all it would have been. Things are different now and he's in love with Zoe.
And of course, Zoe has chosen this moment to throw herself into bed with Wade. Once they get back to BlueBell, she blows a fuse so he'll come over and they end up having sex. It would be something if this was a one time thing, but they both look pretty happy (with plans for a repeat performance). But then George shows up telling Zoe he didn't marry Lemon. They kiss and he tells her they have a lot to talk about the next day. And she walks back to the room with a naked Wade who is expecting her to go for round two.
I feel like if she were to confess to George immediately and be like, 'I only did it to take my mind off the fact that you were getting married to Lemon,' they could probably work this out. But that is so not what's going to happen. Plus, even though he said this was all about sex, you know Wade actually wants a relationship out of this. And if Zoe doesn't tell George immediately she's going to be worried constantly about when Wade might bring this up. Ugh. We solve one problem, we get two more. Sigh.
