Prison Break 4X5: Safe & Sound

I swear. Self owes Michael an apology and a god damned cake for how much time and effort he spent telling him it was impossible for him to break into that safe and get the card. Isn't this exactly the reason you recruited him? So he could do stuff like this?

When we ask Self to get the FBI to help us identify the grainy photos so we know who to go after next, it turns out he knows who one of the guys are. Michael instructs him to go talk to the guy, with any story necessary, and try to get the info. He bullies his way into the office, but no dice. The guy has zero interest in talking to him, and tells him to go talk to his secretary. But, we do find out that the card is in this completely impenetrable safe. I mean, if you're not Michael.

So, we come up with this crazy plan for Michael and Lincoln to break into the office next to the safe, so they can drill out the back of it. (It's way more complicated than that, but I don't have Michael's brain). While that's happening, Self has lured the guy out of his office so we're free to work. And Sucre and Bellick are posing as maintenance men who are doing incredibly loud and noisy work right outside the door to mask the sound of the drill.

Things are going well until the head guy from the Company shows up in the room with the safe. We are so close to finishing, but it's too loud. Apparently, he doesn't trust the cards to not be on people's person anymore and insists this guy show him his card and then put it in his pocket. Unfortunately, at this point, they have the card and are transferring the data. If we put it back now, all is lost. Somehow, because somethings have to work out for us occasionally, we manage to get it copied and escape without anyone seeing us. But man was this stressful!

Meanwhile, Sara has managed to evade BBG, by almost killing herself as she just darts across a super busy road to get away. When she gets back and tells them what's going on, Mahone realizes it's the same guy who killed his son (I also thought this guy killed his ex wife, but that's not the case). So, they do some research and Mahone figures out where he was staying. But that's about as far as we get with it in this episode.

Also, Gretchen has managed to escape. It was only a matter of time. She spent the last few episodes working on digging a nail out of the chair she was tied to. When she finally got it out, she stabbed her captor in the temple and fled. But, the general is not concerned. He's sure she'll come back. She always does. And speaking of the general, we find out he's a cardholder, and Sara is pretty sure he's the guy in charge of the whole Company. Plus, they know that the FBI is looking into him now due them somehow knowing we enhanced a picture of him. 🤷‍♀️

And then there's T Bag. Gross, gross, T Bag. Bellick and Sucre are tasked with trying to find him since we know he's got the book and we think the book knows where we need to break in. They come to GATE and offer the receptionist 10k, but she says she hasn't seen him. She then tells T Bag to offer her more or she outs him. He'll give her 3% of his commissions, which will end up being zero because he doesn't actually have this job. Well, you know.

Later, some scary guy shows up and tells him he was supposed to have produced Scylla two days ago. He's got three days to produce it or they kill him. YAY! It's not gonna happen, but a girl can dream, right?
