The Fosters 3X10: Lucky

I am utterly shocked that Callie actually ended up get adopted. And I ugly cried (as per usual, I had no tissues). I was so sure they were gonna drag this out yet again. Especially since we went into this episode 100% sure the adoption was off. And no, I still don't know how I feel about Callie and Brandon having sex. I'm totally fine with her lying to judge about what happened with him, but emotionally, I don't know how I feel yet. I guess I'll figure it out based on what happens in the aftermath.

So Stef and Lena are hosting a 40th anniversary party for Lena's parents. Stef and Lena, however, are barely speaking after the blow up about Monte being in love with Lena. Lena thinks they should cancel, but Stef insists on going ahead.

Callie and Brandon show up, ready (I think) to tell them about what happened and that they are love and it's fine since Callie is not getting adopted, only to be me with the news that she is. Rita is there and explains that Callie helped her with the video, so she helped Callie by not saying anything about Brandon. Quid pro qo.

Meanwhile, Brandon and Callie have already confessed their love to each other (which I totally believe is real) and don't really know how to proceed. Callie wonders if maybe she could go live with Robert. But, ultimately, she decides that Stef and Lena would be devastated after all they've done for her and giving up Brandon (again) is what she's got to do. The two of them make a pact that they'll never tell anyone what happened. This is somehow going to come back to bite them, but I'm not sure how yet.

The night before the adoption, Callie posts a video to her website talking about how she's come so far and is happy and lucky. But, right before we go in to the see judge, Callie is told she has to apologize to him, as he saw her video where she claimed he was trying to prevent her adoption. She refuses. She says all she did was tell the truth.

In the courtroom, dozens of foster kids have shown up in support of her. The judge initially calls her out on her being mean, but she tells him, she's only telling the truth. She explains how broken the system is and how someone has to speak up. And she's lucky. She found a loving family who wants her, but most kids don't. Eventually, the judge comes around and seem proud for her to be an advocate for changing the system.

Meanwhile, Connor and Jude were caught making out shirtless at Connor house, and Connor tells Jude that his dad is sending him to live with his mom. And I got so fucking pissed at his dad. And then I had to eat crow because it's actually Connor who wants to go live with his mom. He thinks he might feel safer there and be more free to be who he is. I mean that makes sense. Dad is really struggling with having a gay son.

And at the end of the episode, Jesus comes home. (Except it's a different actor. This is totally the dude from To All the Boys I've Loved Before). He claims it was a surprise for Callie's adoptions, but he tells Mariana he can't go back. Did he get kicked out? I want to know what happened there.

Another big episode I was waiting for you to see. Callie is finally adopted and I could not be more happier and more emotional. This is everything she ever wanted and everything I ever wanted for her from day 1. She deserves the world. This is one of the few times where lying is the morally good thing to do because if she would have admitted to sleeping with Brandon she would have never been able to be adopted and it would just be a more longer and strenious process over and over again. She truly is a force to be reckoned with and yeah im just being with joy and emotions galore for her. And yes Jesus's character will be played by a different actor from this moment on as the previous actor was either fired or left I can't really remeber but they replaced his actor with this one who in my opinion is just as amazing and loavble and great at playing Jesus as the previous one and will be getting his own centre piece storylines that will help his character arc. Conner deserves to live in a loving and safe enviroment so as sad as it will be to see him go atleast he won't have to continue living in a home where he is not unconditionally loved and adored and his sexuality is not some taboo and uncomfortable subject where he can just truly shine.
