We like exploring a little funeral malfeasance around here- emphasis on A LITTLE. Unfortunately what we have here is a case of a whole– shocking– lot of funeral malfeasance. What this chain (R.G.Ortiz) has been doing–and getting away with– for years is awful and inexplicable.
This is a patron-only video, topic voted on by out $10 and up members. I'm glad this topic was what they picked because I've been following this case as it developed and was already deep in the weeds.
I know it seems like I just put out a main channel video. Yes, it's true, congrats to me, etc. But I'm leaving in a few days for another several week Titanic-book research trip and felt inspired to CREATE something not Titanic-related (uh–in the form of dissecting this depressing funeral home scandal, I guess). I'll update you on the trip soon.
What do you think should happen to R.G.Ortiz? Sued into oblivion? Aggressive performance improvement plan? Closed permanently?

My beautiful Latina friend passed away very suddenly. She was so pretty with a big gorgeous smile, lovely curly hair, big brown eyes, and great sense of humor. When I went to her funeral, I almost pooped myself when I saw her makeup. She was made to look like an elderly very black woman instead of a light brown 49 yr old. I thought, do they only have two colors of makeup, white and black? I’m already pale, would I end up looking like a clown? I could hear her in my head yelling sarcastically, Oh My God! Look at me! What were they thinking? I’m sure she would have laughed about it too. Bury me sans makeup, embalming, anything valuable. Wrap me up in a biodegradable shroud with a picture of my family, bury me without a coffin and plant perennial flowers or trees over my body, so I can feed them and watch them grow.

The event may be the worst road bridge disaster in American History. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dixon_Bridge_Disaster Deaths: 46 Non-fatal injuries: ~at least 56 Rev. J. H. Pratt of the Baptist Church was doing baptisms that fateful day and most of the victims were from his congregation, 150 to 200 spectators were on the bridge just before it failed. There we so many stories of sadness, but also hero's, and the town coming together. Thanks.
