Human composting is legal in the state of New York!
[DISCO BALL DESCENDS, BEAT DROPS, CONFETTI CANNON FIRES -- ALL THE DEATHLINGS IN THE HOUSE SAY "Heeeeeeeeey!"]
And while I feel especially invested in this and have been working with some amazing people to get human composting legalized, there are people on the right who have...thoughts.
Thoughts about what's right and wrong to do with our bodies when we die.
Thoughts about what's *dignity*.
Thoughts about Grandma getting thrown out back on your compost heap along with the food scraps from your frittata.
Sigh.
So I trimmed my hair, set up my camera, and took on what some Fox News bros had to say about human composting. Friends, when it comes to choices about our dead, can't we all just get along? Live and let live, decompose and let decompose as we choose?
If nothing else, I hope this video gives you some tactics to use in responding to people about human composting if they are misinformed.
So onward deathlings! Spread the good word and don't let death denial get you down!

Human organic reduction is not a replacement for burial, it’s an alternative to cremation. In more urban areas, there isn’t much space for natural burial, so these facilities reduce the body to compost in just a few weeks.

(Which is allowed in my state at certain green burial cemetaries)? You end up as earth anyway in the end no matter what, just a matter of how fast you go. Seems like semantics and an excuse for amygdala activation from fear-based media. But then again, Im a cascadian and according to said fear media those of us from up here are the enemy, sooo
