9-1-1 8X18: Seismic Shifts

Okay, so I stupidly thought I could make it without tissues. Again. Why do I keep doing this to myself? Lots of tears towards the end of this. Also, am I the only one who found it odd that Hen would make Eddie BBQ for his going away party? He lives in Texas. We should have sent him off with some sushi or something. Lol.

Anyway, we've got this collapsed building with Athena finding two guys trapped beneath rubble. It's cart cop and the laundry room couple, but the girlfriend is fine. However, when they manage to get some debris off him, we realize he's not doing well and Athena sends the girlfriend out to bring back help.

Chim shows up and as they continue to work, they realize he's got a torn artery. Part of the problem is no one can really get to him. We're relying on cart cop to do most of the work, as he can sort of reach in his position. He's been using his hand to cover up the artery, but Chim gives him something better. However, this kids is not doing well. He ends up without a pulse for a bit before we can shock him back.

While this is going on, another explosion has trapped them in the room. So, we're doing all this without the possibility of help. Eventually, the rest of the 118 shows up and breaks through. They are able to bring laundry guy out to an ambulance. And then they start working on cart cop. Who, is much more injured than he let on. He figured he knew he was gonna die so I wanted him to get the help.

However, after Bobby just making that same sacrifice, Athena and Chim aren't having it. He ends up with no pulse for a good long time, but Chim refuses to call time of death. He insists Hen keep doing CPR, and eventually, we get him back and he's off to the hospital as well.

Also, Eddie gets FOMO from watching the 118 on the news and shows up to help. He comes with this is insane idea to get Buck, Ravi, and their victim out of the building. I mean, there is zero chance that really happens, right? But everyone ends up safe.

Once we're back to the station, Eddie starts to try to change his travel plans because his first shift starts the next morning. But Chim decides he's not leaving. And neither is Buck (whose put in for a transfer). He gives a rousing speech about how we are not going to dishonor Bobby's memory by letting the 118 fall apart. Everyone stays.

And then we end with Maddie giving birth (I completely forgot she was pregnant) to a baby they named Robert Nash Han.

Oh, plus, Buck is looking for a new place since Eddie and Christopher are moving back into his place. Athena ends up deciding to sell the house. And Hen and Karen officially adopt Mara.

I'm totally good with Chim being the new captain. He's been interim captain before. Plus, he basically got Athena's blessing in this episode.
