My Visit to the Igreja de São Francisco Catacombs in Portugal + Video Update (PATRON-ONLY VIDEO)

Greetings from sunny Porto, Portugal my good deathlings!

I arrived here feeling a little discombobulated and stressed from several months of hard adulting in Los Angeles. But then, maybe it's the weather, the FOOD, the architecture, the magical coworking space I've been camped at for hours a day – Porto has revived me! I mean, look at this place:

Should we go to a cemetery? Of course we should! Hello, sir, why the long face?

Every place you go just casually has paintings like this on the wall like they're NO BIG DEAL.

Cemeteries are the best.  What's also the best?  Catacombs! When one feels revived, one should go see the dead. So that's what I did at the Igreja de São Francisco, featured in the vlog above.

But aside from happy Caitlin visiting hundreds of years-old bones, I wanted to let you know, dear Patrons, that there will be no main channel Ask a Mortician video this month on YouTube.

Oh, so you're too busy stalking cemetery cats in Portugal to do a big video, Caitlin?

Actually, quite the opposite. I shot an entire sit down portion of a video, it went to editor Timothy who did a fantastic job on it, and it was in the final stages of notes...when I just couldn't release it. Why? Because long story short, the sound and lighting were not good enough.

OK, it wasn't TERRIBLE, and I could almost convince myself to look past these things, but...I could not. After we spent the year trying to level-up all our videos, this felt like a step back. So, as much as it pains me, we decided we'd rather have no video this month, rather than a lower quality one. I'M GOING TO RESHOOT THE VIDEO (deep breaths, burns sage) and you will see it in July.

It'll be worth the wait deathlings – aside from MY FACE, one of my favorite guests is back on the channel with all her wisdom and insight.

And for those of you $5+ Patrons who were champing at the bit for the June SECRET Shop item, don't fret! A new item shall be revealed tomorrow and friends...oh dear friends... it's a banger.
