Ugh. I was so concerned about their being a custody war for Ana's baby between Stef and Lena, and the grandparents, that I didn't even think that Ana might want to keep the baby. If the baby lives, anyway.
Okay, so Ana moves in, and now that Mariana knows that Stef and Lena are planning to take the baby, she needs to go tell the grandparents that they no longer need to adopt it. It all sort of seems like it's going okay, but then the grandparents show up at the house and tell Ana that she can keep the baby and they will help her in anyway that she needs. She seems a little hesitant, but eventually says she can't. I assume it's because she already promised this baby to Stef and Lena.
Later, Jesus tells Mariana that if she tells Ana she can keep the baby, she probably will. Everyone is letting Stef and Lena adopt this baby because Mariana wants to keep her in the family. Eventually, she does tell Ana it would be okay with her if she kept the baby, but we don't really get a response to that. More on that later.
Jude shows up at the hospital and refuses to leave until Connor's dad let's him see him. He calls Lena who shows up and tries to comfort Jude. Eventually, Jude confesses that he and Connor are more than just friends. Lena tries to talk to Connor's dad about it, but he claims he doesn't care if Jude is gay, but his son can't be. After getting lecture/tough love piece of Lena's mind, he seems to relent a bit and allow Jude access to the room. The two of them cuddle on the bed and watch TV. Later, he tells Callie that Connor is his boyfriend.
Mariana is busy planning for the dance off, but she sprains her ankle on Jesus' skateboard the day before. Unfortunately, the rules say you need six dancers to participate and without Mariana, we only have five. But, she puts her STEM skills to the test and manages to project a fake dancer with lights and motion capture movement onto the stage which no one can tell if it's real or fake. The performance is a hit. But, we don't get a decision yet.
However, Lena ends up getting there just in time because she was in her office spilling her guts about how much of a mess her life is right now. Including her marriage, when her boss decides it would be the perfect time to kiss her. This isn't the first time it's seemed like maybe she was interested in Lena. I have a feeling sometime in S3 the two of them are going to separate for a little while. This relationship is just not good.
While Callie is over spending the weekend with Robert, his dad is there as well. He's a little blunt, but he does say a lot of things that need to be said. Including the fact that he cannot understand why Robert is forced Callie to come live here when she already had a house full of people who love her. After dinner, he gets a call from his lawyer informing him that Callie is planning to get emancipated. He drops her off at home and says very little.
But, the next day, Stef gets a call that they have to meet the judge. And Robert ends up dropping the custody battle. He's not going to challenge Stef and Lena for Callie. He said he believes her when she says he's her dad and they will always be a family. I think she means it too. Plus, lots of kids don't live with their parent and have a perfectly lovely, loving relationship when they see them. I don't think this is a crisis.
Ana is driving the twins home from the dance off when she starts to have some sharp pains. She pulls over and the twins argue about who should take over driving. Eventually, Ana says she can continue driving, and they let her, but tell her to drive to the hospital. She agrees, but shortly after they are back on the road, they get T-boned by another car.
Back at home, Stef takes the call after a happy celebration with Callie and Jude about the judge's hearing. We hear that there is one fatality. My mom is on either Ana (the end of the beginning- they just got Ana back in their lives and a baby is a beginning), or someone in the other car. But, I feel like it could also be Jesus. I feel like they might be trying to write him out of this show. The actor seems missing a lot and it's often just explains as him being at wrestling. But we don't really see him wrestle that much. I wonder if he has scheduling issues? I thought they were writing him out with the boarding school story, but maybe he dies?
