Hart of Dixie 1X12: Mistresses & Misunderstandings

Okay, so as much as I didn't really care for the metaphor of Zoe and Annabeth's relationship as Zoe being her mistress, I did really enjoy the fact that Zoe had an actual friend. And I was so disappointed in Annabeth when she screwed Zoe over. Sigh.

So, Zoe is happy and bubbly and excited to be alive. Both Lavon and Wade attribute this to her finally dating someone. Wade is upset and Lavon convinces him to just go talk to her. So the two of them head over to Zoe's where it's obvious that she is hiding something. She won't let them in the house and is being very cagey.

Once they leave, she tells the person they can come out and it turns out, it's Annabeth. She and Zoe have developed a friendship, Annabeth is terrified of Lemon finding out since Lemon hates Zoe. Zoe is so happy to have a friend that she's willing to keep this friendship a secret. However, Lavon convinces her that a real friend wouldn't make her keep this secret. She calls Annabeth to ask if they can tell Lemon, but Annabeth pretends Zoe is a telemarketer, as she's with Lemon.

Meanwhile, Butter Bitch is busy trying to become the next head of the Matronly Memories (or something like that). She's running around being just as bitchy as usual (although everyone is claiming she's worse than usual due to this stress). Zoe helps Annabeth stand up for herself with Lemon, and when the current head of the Matronly Memory overhears this, she decides that the kind of person she wants to lead and invites Annabeth to dinner. She excited calls Zoe to tell her the news and lets her know that she's telling Lemon about their friendship after dinner.

Thrilled about this, Zoe goes out and has a custom present made for Annabeth. It's a keychain with her initals on it. After the dinner, Annabeth comes to the house and ends up telling Zoe that she's being made the head of the group, but they can't go public with their friendship because it would be political suicide. Zoe is sad, but still gives her the present.

BB is livid that Annabeth got the job over her. And she's got dirt on the current MM leader lady. As she's about to go use it to blackmail her into Lemon the gig, George stops her. He tells if if she does this, do not come home. He cannot handle anymore of her crazy. Seriously, George. You have been telling her this forever ago.

So, while she keeps that to herself, at the meeting to introduce Annabeth as the new head, she finds the keychain in Annabeth's purse and announces to the group that it seems like she and Zoe are friends. Everyone is appalled (WTF people. Zoe is awesome) and even after Annabeth ditched her, Zoe still saves her. She claimed she had that keychain made for Judson, and Annabeth must have found it when she lost it.

She then proceeds to give the keychain to Judson and kiss him long and hard. He goes along with the charade, and since the kiss felt really good to both of them, they decide to give the relationship another go.

Of course, Wade is watching all this. He had just decided that he was going to try to pursue Zoe before she got into a relationship. He even got a haircut and a new shirt. But she ended up with Judson before he could do anything about it. I almost feel bad for him.
