It feels like we've been waiting to make this video for years. Sometimes you meet a person and see their work and see all the good it could do and you're just like MORE PEOPLE NEED TO KNOW ABOUT THIS AND SUPPORT IT AND NORMALIZE IT AND CELEBRATE IT.
This was a surprisingly emotional video to shoot. Getting to see Katrina's DREAMS realized, a dream that I've had the privilege of watching growing and evolve for years, and meeting Elliot Rasenick at Bells Mountain – how can you not be impassioned about human compost and conservation after talking with these two?
I'd catch myself getting a little teary eyed at certain parts even after the thousandth view for edits. It's just that profound.
I won't yammer on much more. The video speaks more than enough for itself.

*A quick, but important clarification: If you clicked on this post from your email, the subject probably read, "Caitlin Doughty's new patron-only video". This is not a patron-only video; this is a video that was released to the public. When we release patron-only videos we will explicitly state in the video info and in the video post that it is a "Patron Exclusive" video. Patreon recently changed the way Patrons-only video posts (i.e. these nifty messages that are delivered to your inbox) are released via email – automatically adding that "patron-only video" line to the subject, even if that's not the case. But that's not how we (and a lot of other creators) do things. So, sorry for the confusion! I hope this cleared things up! We're working on fixing this with Patreon.

This video sparked the first 'real' conversation I've had with my wife about what kind of funerals we each want (previously, we had both espoused the "throw a good wake - that's all that matters" attitude). Now, I have all kinds of ideas... ;) Thank you for the work you're doing, and for building this death positive community!

I'm from Holland and it is not an option now for us but as I was reading it they will alow it in hopefully one year. Keep up the good work and making these great videos. ( I will see if I can help here in my home country and on the order of the good death because if America allows it we foresure will follow in the foodsteps).
