Hello Deathlings!
Today we bring you one of my favorite corpse capers. The story of D.H. Lawrence – his life, his death, his burial, and his "burial" are just so unexpectedly bizarre.
I mean, is this common knowledge amongst casual DHL fans?
This story has been sloshin' around in the ol' brainpan for a while now, but I wasn't sure what was the best home for it. An article? A book section? A performance art piece at my next small outdoor gathering?
When in doubt, look to the video. And I'm really happy I did.
I just have to give a shout out to one of our new editors, Timothy [SOUND THE CHEERS OF A THOUSAND CORGIS], who is really tuning into the weirdo, scrappy vibe that we love so much here. I wasn't able to properly shoot at the D.H. Lawrence ranch, but nonetheless this video really came to life under Timothy's good eye (in my humble opinion).
I hope you've been enjoying Timothy's (and Andy's and Vlog Editor Alex's) editing skillz. I can't tell you the giddy thrill that still comes over me when I get that email from one of them that announces a first cut for my review. It's like Christmas day...only with a lot more me.
Anyway, yay Team Death Video!
I hope you enjoy this bonkers tale!
Stay safe deathlings!
Caitlin
*A quick, but important clarification: If you clicked on this post from your email, the subject probably read, "Caitlin Doughty's new patron-only video". This is not a patron-only video; this is a video that was released to the public. When we release patron-only videos we will explicitly state in the video info and in the video post that it is a "Patron Exclusive" video. Patreon recently changed the way Patrons-only video posts (i.e. these nifty messages that are delivered to your inbox) are released via email – automatically adding that "patron-only video" line to the subject, even if that's not the case. But that's not how we (and a lot of other creators) do things. So, sorry for the confusion! I hope this cleared things up! We're working on fixing this with Patreon.
