Okay, so this was definitely my least favorite season so far. But there were a lot of sweet moments, so I'm not mad about it. Also, I loved the actual show.
Opening night (and Ricky's birthday) have arrived! Red, Jenn, and Nini all show up for the big day. Which, Channing is determined to ruin so he's got material for his stupid documentary. But, it seems like Corbin is on our side and not out to ruin the show, which is going delightfully.
Halfway through the show, Red texted Ashlyn to meet him backstage. And it seems like he's going to break up with her, much to her relief, but he ends up telling her he actually wants to be more committed. She kind of says nothing and high tails it out of there.
Poor Kourtney is just a giant bundle of anxiety. And it certainly doesn't help that asshole Channing has decided that during her solo is the perfect time to try to drum up some drama by cutting off the power. But, Miss Jenn rallies the audience to use their phones as spotlights and Kourtney continues in the dark until Gina storms over and turns the power back on.
Nini leaves notes (and a lottery ticket for Ricky) for the cast, but tries to slip out quietly after telling Miss Jenn that she's planning to stay in California permanently. I feel like that's probably the last we see of her.
And poor E.J. He called his dad and tried to get him to say he was proud of him, but he fucking hung up on him instead. What the actual, fuck. This is your son, who is desperate for your approval. And you fucking hang up on him? What is this utter bullshit.
Cut to a month later when we're all at the premiere for the documentary. Kourtney is acting like a Kardashian (I hate it. Kourtney might be my favorite character. Please don't destroy her), Ricky has an awesome suit on, and Corbin has fired Channing. The kids are getting a preview of the documentary before the audience is let in, and it's not great. It's edited to make it look like they all hate each other and are cheating on their partners. They all get upset and leave.
However, Ricky and Gina stay behind and confess their feelings for each other (which E.J. already knew) and kiss a couple of times.
Oh, and we find out that Red is bi. For some reason he's also in this documentary as a talking head.
