Hello Deathlings!
This week we are launching our new series, "The Death Gap: End-Of-Life Inequality".
In collaboration with The Collective For Radical Death Studies, this four-part series will examine the various ways in which systemic racism impacts the way BIPOC communities experience death and access end-of-life care.

Our first article asks Whose Green Burial Is It Anyway?
In a space of loss that is already difficult enough to exist in, we need to do more to understand how our language surrounding green burial can exclude people of varying histories and backgrounds. For those who are green burial advocates, at the intersection of deeply held cultural customs, existential grief, and a rapidly developing scientific world have a unique opportunity to have deep conversations that broaden the horizon of inclusivity and accessibility in the environmental realm.
Some of you may recognize our wonderful guest writer, Corinne Elicone. Corinne is the Events & Outreach Coordinator at Mount Auburn Cemetery in Cambridge, Massachusetts AND the cemetery's first female crematory operator in their near 190 year history!
Keep your eyes peeled over the next 3 weeks for more articles in "The Death Gap" series! We are looking forward to the conversations that this series may hopefully bring about.
From an appropriate social distance,
Caitlin
