Ugh. It seems like literally, no one, on this show is dating the person they actually want to. I don't really have a preference for who I want Zoe to be with. I just want her to be happy, so I don't care who it's with. There's a decent chance that might change in the future, but right now, I'm just pro Zoe.
So, apparently, Wade is married. And his wife comes back to town because she's engaged and needs a divorce. It seems like this is all very amicable, at least until Wade sees the groom. And it's a guy he knows is an asshole. He hightails it back to George's office (I 100% forgot he was a lawyer) and promptly rips up the divorce papers. But he's definitely got a thing for Zoe.
However, after he rips them up, his wife shows up all pissed and he tells her she can do better than that guy. Unfortunately, she interprets this as him still wanting to be married to her. And she drops by to try to get back together. But, her fiancé shows up and catches them (even though they haven't really done anything). We know he's jealous, and damn is he really.
George is dropping Zoe off at home (more on that later) and they hear screaming, so they head over to Wade's. Where they find fiancé pointing a crossbow at Wade. George manages to talk him down and take the crossbow from him. But, when George is accidentally shot in the thigh, he takes off, leaving Zoe to take him to the office and fix him up.
Earlier in the episode, Zoe stitches up an adorable little pig since the vet is all the way in Mobile. The next day, the vet comes to compliment her work, and then asks her to dinner. She accepts, but immediately sort of freaks out about it. She hasn't been on a date in 8 years. When she gets to the restaurant, she calls him and cancels.
Instead, she decides to date herself and heads over to Mobile to see a Woody Allen film. George ends up there as well (he hiding from Butter Bitch's turtle race) so they go together. Then they get ice cream. Then wine. It's on the way back from this 'date' that they run into the insanity of crossbow guy. After Zoe patches George up at the hospital, she realizes how much she likes him and flees, crying, when Lemon shows up to take care of him.
During all this, Lemon and the mayor are hosting a turtle race. The uppity lady has won 18 years in a row (because everyone cheats to let her win), but Lavon is not having that. He's entered his own turtle and is making sure it's fair race. When it's obvious that uppity lady is going to lose to him, she quietly (and bitchily) explains that she always wins and people look the other way to make sure. However, BB makes sure this is all said into the microphone, so the whole bar hears her.
Afterward, Lemon and Levon celebrate the success of his turtle. BB is thrilled that they can be friends now. But Mr. Mayor tells her he's still in love with her, so they probably can't. It's just then that Lemon gets the call that George has been shot with an arrow, so she leaves.
The next day, Zoe shows up at the bar and runs into the vet. She apologizes for her craziness the previous day, and offers to buy him coffee, which he accepts. So, she's finally found a single guy.
But the truth in all of this is that no one really wants to be dating who they are with. Zoe wants George, BB wants the mayor, and the mayor wants her, Wade wants Zoe, I'm not sure who George wants. It feels like it could be Zoe. Shelly seems to want Wade. This is such a messy town for love.
