The Fosters 2X9: Leaky Faucet

So we all end up at this Mexican street fair, which looks like a pretty good time. Although, if I were there I'd be all over Callie and Wyatt's eat everything we can find until we die, plan. Lol.

Jesus tries to impress Hayley with a well thought out date, but she's less than impressed. Now, to be fair, as annoying, manipulative, and awful as I find her, I do kind of see her point here. It's not that Jesus didn't put in any effort, he clearly did, but recreating their first date that was just sex on a dirty couch in a garage, leaves something to be desired. But after that, she kind of loses me.

After Stef breaks up their 'date' he takes her the street fair that he heard Brandon talking about at breakfast. And at first she's thrilled, she loves it. But then when she finds out that it wasn't his idea, she gets all pissed again. Hayley. You were just having a great time. Why does it matter whose idea this was? Then she accuses Jesus of just wanted to have sex with her and not date her which he denies. And to make it up to her, he gets her fucking name tattooed across his side. Outside. At a street fair. Listen. I'm a girl who loves a good tattoo. I have several (I just counted, it's 12). But you do not get a tattoo to make your 15 year old, not even girlfriend happy. Especially of her name. Double especially at a dirt street fair outside!

Mariana and Mat are also at the fair, and she's unhappy too. Everything is reminding her that she's Latina, but she doesn't really identify with the culture. Then, she 'runs into' Mike and Ana. (I'm convinced this was on purposed. She knew Stef and Lena wouldn't let her see the kids so they orchestrated this meeting). Ana's all, let me make amends and Mariana basically just runs away. No shame in that, if you ask me.

But, she takes this all out on poor Mat. From Mariana's point of view, she really didn't grow up with any of this culture. The only part of her that Mexican, is Ana. And she wants to be as far removed from that as possible. Which makes a lot of sense, but I don't know if she's ever actually put that together before now. It also sort of puts this blonde hair (which I really don't like) into perspective as well.

And, since no one is having a good time at the fair, Liam is here as well. As soon as Wyatt sees him, he immediately goes after him to make sure that Callie doesn't see him. What he should have done was go grab Callie and get her out of there, but he's mind went another way. He runs into Brandon and asks him for help finding Liam. They do and Wyatt tells him that he slept with Callie, but he didn't rape her, she wanted it. So Wyatt punches him. And then Brandon joins in. And Callie sees all this.

Afterwards, she's upset and Wyatt claims he was just protecting her, which she understands, but they've already had this fight about Liam before. Plus, she just disclosed her panic attacks to him and asked that he stay by her side during the fair, and instead, he left to go beat someone up. I genuinely see and understand both sides here. I don't know what I would do if I ran into someone who sexually assaulted my husband. I might try to beat them up as well, even though I know he wouldn't want me to.

And back at the house, Stef is alone for the first time in forever, and she decides to fix (and ultimately make worse) a leaky pipe in the bathroom. But really I think it's just her trying to distract herself from losing the baby. It's easy to forget that she is also grieving. And not just because Lena was carrying the baby, but because Stef was pretty vocal about not being sure if she wanted this baby. Eventually, she does break down though.
