Hart of Dixie 1X5: Faith and Infidelity

Okay, I know we skipped 1X4, but I've been told that that was the way they were actually supposed to air, so the next episode will be 1X4 and then we'll follow that with 1X6.

OMG. I really hope the season finale is Butter Bitch dying somehow. Right now, I'm thinking eaten by Burt Reynolds is the best way for her to go. God. She's such a bitch. Why does George put up with her? He's so nice and she's so not. Blech.

Anyway, Brick is out of town so Zoe has the practice to herself for the week. The first thing that happens is Wade brings in the town drunk that he ran over because he was sleeping underneath his trailer. Zoe chastises him for it, but I'm with Wade. Who the hell checks under their car to see if anyone is sleeping under it before they drive off?

The next thing that happens is Zoe gets test results from the minister that claim he has syphilis. The nurse claims that it's impossible. Not the minster. He and his wife and too nice of people and are always attached at the hip. But Zoe claims, everybody cheats. So, she calls the minister in and he shows up with his wife and she has to tell him the news. He insists there must have been a mix up at the lab and asks her to test again. She does, but both he and his wife both test positive again, for syphilis. They cannot understand. But Zoe is certain that the only reason can be because one of the cheated.

Meanwhile, the gossip around town about the minister cheating is spreading like wildfire, and it looks like they may be breaking up. Everyone is shocked. But Zoe overhears the shampoo girl at the salon saying it's her fault that the minister and his wife broke up, and assumes that minister had an affair with her. So, she calls her into the office to ask her about it. Turns out, she has syphilis and passed it to the minister's wife when she gave her a belly button piercing. And the wife than passed it to the minister. I had no idea that syphilis could be spread in ways other than sex, so I learned something new today.

Later, the old drunk that Wade drove over in the beginning of the episode is on the roof and threatening to jump off. The whole town is gathered to watch and Zoe is horrified that no one is helping him. She tries to climb up to the roof herself, but it doesn't work. But thankfully, Wade is up there. Turns out, the drunk guy is his dad and this is a fairly regular occurrence. He gets drunk and threatens to jump if Wade doesn't come up and sing with him. Zoe is definitely changing her opinion of him (and I hate to admit it, but I kind of am too).

And lastly, George and Butter Bitch get into a fight because he 'stole' the money that she wanted to use to restore a bridge to get the roads widens. Of course, he says, Zoe thinks it's a good idea too, and BB loses her mind. She's kind of giving him the silent treatment under he tells her it's time they looked into buying a house. What are you doing George? You do not want to tie yourself to this woman. I beg you. She's the worst.
