Arrow 7X13: Star City Slayer

Another episode that I really enjoyed. I'm sure this is starting to sound like I hate this show, but I'm just shocked that after all this time, the show is still good. That doesn't always happen in the 7th season of a show that got full 22-24 episode seasons.

Let's start with: I was wrong. I assumed that the notes Dinah was getting last episode were the same ones Laurel was getting. And I assumed the issue at hand was taken care of. Not so much, no. Turns out we're all (minus Oliver and Curtis- why not Curtis, it's currently a mystery to me) getting similar notes. Someone wants to kill all the vigilantes. But not just them, other people who are sort of close to us, but not really, as well.

That said, we're all getting these notes about how we're going to be killed. Unfortunately, they can't find any connections with the victims. Until finally, we realize that they are all being injected with the same drug. And, wouldn't you know it, it's a super rare drug that is easy to track. So Dinah, John, Rene, and Curtis head over to the last place it was shipped. This creepy ass haunted house in the Glades. Fun.

They split up and start looking around. Rene and Curtis discover a Slabside uniform and deduce that the person might have been locked up with Oliver. But, it's Dinah who finds the motherlode. A murder board full of pictures of herself, John, and Rene; plus a scrapbook of Oliver. Unfortunately, the killer finds her and slits her throat claiming he warned her. The rest of the team descend upon her and thankfully, Curtis has some cauterizing tech that will help save her.

But, once he realizes he's been outed, the killer heads over to Oliver's place where a storm has knocked out the power and apparently, Felicity's security system. This seems like a huge issue. Felicity should know better than this. They are all injected (somehow- via the chili?) with the same drug as the previous victims which immobilizes you. So Oliver, Felicity, and William have to sit there and listen to this guy (oh, it's the squirrelly guy from when Oliver was in prison) monologue about how he's the only person who is actually Oliver's friend and all his other friends will eventually turn on him.

The good news is the drug isn't long lasting and William and Oliver are able to coordinate sliding a bottle across the counter so Oliver has a weapon. Felicity goes out of her way (at least that's what it seemed like) to make squirrel mad enough to attack, and Oliver is able to (somehow) knock him unconscious with the glass bottle. Just as this happens, the team rushes in, proving squirrel wrong.

They all head to the hospital afterwards and Oliver and William decide it would be best if William went and lived with his grandparents right now. He just wants a normal life and that isn't something that Oliver and Felicity can provide right now. It's sad, but it's probably what's best for everyone.

While the good-bye is happening, Felicity gets a call from the doctor and the bloodwork she and Oliver gave to make sure whatever drug they were injected with doesn't have lasting effects. I didn't realize it at the time, but now I'm pretty sure the doctor was probably telling her she was pregnant.

Because, in the flash forward, we find out that Blackstar (yes, I caved and looked up her name) is actually Felicity's daughter. And also that Felicity isn't dead (Then why the hell did she abandon William?) and the reason she wants the password to the Archer program is to try to find Felicity. Oh, thank you. I hope this is all good news. I was not dealing well with the fact that Felicity was both dead and responsible for trying to bomb the city out of existence.
