Prison Break 2X19: Sweet Caroline

Fuck. I really thought we were going to accomplish something here. I should have known better since we're still in S2, but I really thought Michael and Lincoln were going to finally catch a break.

So, our new plan involves blackmailing the president over this tape. We're all in Chicago, so Michael heads down to where she's giving her a speech and slips her a note. However, Michael is almost immediately accosted and starts getting a beat down from Kim. Michael demands to see the president and Bill just laughs at him. Until Caroline shows up and tell Bill to get lost.

Once she and Michael are alone, he tells her about the tape and how he's going to release it if she doesn't give him and Lincoln presidential pardons. They get Lincoln on the phone and he plays the tape for Caroline to prove they have it. And we finally get to hear what's on it. And it was not what I was expecting. Apparently, Caroline and Terrance (who are siblings) were having an incestuous relationship. You could have given me 4000 guess and I probably would not have come up with that one. But, it makes sense why she would do pretty much anything to not have this audio released.

She arranges for Michael to leave with no consequence, after assuring him that she's announce their pardons on live TV during her press conference this afternoon. Michael heads back over to Lincoln who's manage to arrange one way tickets and a safe house cabin for the two of them and Sara. Michael tells him they would need any of that now that they're about to be paroned.

However, Bill gets to the Caroline before she gets on stage and reminds her that the Company also knows all her secrets. And who is more afraid of, them, or Michael? I didn't even think about that, but it makes perfect sense. And when she gets on stage, instead of issue them a pardon, she claims she's dying of cancer and will step down effective immediately. No president, no presidential pardon. And we're back to square one. Fuck.

While all this is going on, T Bag and Bellick are on the same plane down to Mexico, unbeknownst to each other. When they get to the airport, Pocket Boy is desperate to get his bag with his 5 million, but he sees that Bellick is there. So, in an effort to thwart him, lets his bag loop around the carousel and tries to grab it outside. But a worker stops him. He cannot get the bag before sirens start going off and he's got to flee.

Also in Mexico, Sucre and Maricruz are living the life of happiness. But, then he sees Bagwell on the news and realizes the 5 million is probably at the airport. Maricruz convinces him not to go looking for it. He reluctantly agrees and go to pick her some cherries. But when he gets back fucking Bellick is there to take him in for his $100,000 reward. However, Sucre tries to barter the 5 million at the airport with him. We don't get a resolution, but I think it will probably work.

And Mahone had Sara trapped in that hotel room most of the episode. She refuses to tell him where Michael is so he tricks her. He pulls the ammo out of his gun and rests it on the table for minute. Then, she lunges for it, holds him and gunpoint and flees. Once she leaves Mahone calls the FBI lady and tells her to follow Sara and she should lead them right to Michael. They really used Sara as a Michael detection system, don't they?
