The Vampire Diaries 4X7: My Brother's Keeper

I'm sorry, what? Elena is what now? I wanted this for such a long time and now I don't know if I can enjoy it because I don't know if she is doing this of her own free will. Aaahhh.

So, Elena and Stefan are 100% broken up. He and Caroline spend a lot of time discussing Elena (are her feelings for Damon) in this episode. I really enjoy the friendship that two of them have found. Anyway, they are both sort of desperate for this cure because they both think Elena is much different as a vampire than as a human. But, I love when Stefan told Damon they broke up. Damon tries to go into brotherly bonding move, and Stefan just tells him, 'Let's not pretend like this isn't the best day of you life.'

Anyway, Stefan is still all in on this cure, and the way he and Klaus are planning to do that, is to get Jeremy to kill as many vampires as possible, so the mark grows, and they'll have their map. So, Stefan decides that making criminals into vampires and then bringing them to Jeremy to kill is the way to do this. However, the more vampires Jeremy kills, the more addicted to it (for lack of a better term) he becomes. And it's getting harder and harder for him not to kill Elena. He does manage to stab her in the neck before Stefan shows up and stops him though.

This sort of leads to Elena and Jeremy realizing they can't live together right now. So, Elena heads over the boarding house (which means Stefan leaves to crash elsewhere) and Matt decides to move in to help keep tabs on Jeremy. He's like one of the only humans left on this show, so Jeremy probably won't want to kill him.

Stefan ends up over at Caroline's and they discuss the possibility of Elena being sired to Damon. They claim that it was his blood that saved her (did we know this?) and now she's sired to him, which would explain the way she's been acting and agreeing with everything he said. While they are having this conversation, we get interspersed shots of Elena and Damon having sex for the first time. I want to love this, but I don't know if Elena actually wants this, or she only thinks she does now that we know she's sired to Damon. Does Damon know this? I feel like he'd be super pissed if he found out. He's always been Team Free Will with Elena and this is totally the opposite for that.

So, while all this is going on. We find out the Tyler and Haley have almost finished breaking all the sire bonds of the hybrids. BUT, we also find out that Haley is working with the professor. Huh? How long has that been going on? She claims she just met him, but obviously that's not true. Was Tyler running into her when he was trying to break the bond all orchestrated? Or was that the catalyst that set up this path? I think the professor is some kind of hunter, so it would make sense that he'd also want to cure. But, I need more info here!

Also we find out that even if we get the cure, we need Bonnie to do some spell for it. So, that explains why the professor has been working with her to try to get her magic back.

We all need to get together and have some sort of summit. We need to be sharing information (but keeping our mouths shut about it, no need to anger Klaus if we don't have to). There are way too many things happening and most of us know only a tiny fraction of it.

Do we think Caroline and Klaus are going to end up together? I really can't decide. He does genuinely seem to like her (how could you now?), and they do seem to get along and enjoy each other's company (when he's not trying to kill all her friends). I don't know. If they get together, it might help everyone be safe from Klaus. You know, if Caroline forbids him to kill anyone she knows. 🤷‍♀️
