Burial Shrouds and Patreon Fees (a common combination)

Hello deathlings,

You may have heard rumblings round the interweb that Patreon as a company is planning to introduce new processing fees on the people who pledge and donate.  The fees may seem to be on the smaller side ($.39 or so) but the amount is still too much, especially for all the kind people who are donating $1. As you might imagine, creators like myself are livid about this. There wasn't any transparency or warning from Patreon, and it seems fair to say they made a mistake rolling this out. They're a growing company, and they impressed me in the past with their good intentions. I hope they get it together.

IMPORTANT:  I'm not going to take action or ask you to take any action until we know for sure what's going on.  I can't lie and say that I'm not nervous. These videos rely almost entirely on this platform, and I want it to be a safe, ethical place for you to donate.  I'm so grateful to you for allowing me and my team to make our videos, and I NEVER EVER want you to feel taken advantage of in any way.

In other news, here's a video about burial shrouds!  I'm really the queen of the awkward transition, aren't I?

Also, if you haven't joined out secret facebook group the Deathling Den yet, do it! https://www.facebook.com/groups/TheDeathlingDen  We're already starting good conversations, plans for our first book club, etc.

More soon, AND A DOCUMENTARY, next week.

xx

One of my co-workers whom is a very death positive person although where we work is not particularly death positive at all, came up to me and said, "I saw this shirt the other day on a gothic blog I read that said future corpse over and over again." I blabbed with excitement that it was from The Order of the Good Death, that I had been telling him about for weeks. We are both soon to be mortuary students (currently completing our prerequisites). Anyways, don't really know why I told you folks all that. Point is, I bought the Future Corpse shirt last week and I can't wait to get it in the mail to spread death positivity everywhere I go! Also designed a sweatshirt that says 'It's Okay to Decay' - so excited about it.

I'm very grateful for everyone who is working to making death more environmentally positive
