Ask a Mortician: Can they keep me from my dead?

Hello corpsey muffins!

(This is my new term of endearment, though it doesn't exactly roll off the tongue, does it?)

This is an older style Ask a Mortician with a series of questions about life in a funeral home.  Though to be fair I give the most weight to a question about family's being kept from their dead. Is it legal?  Spoiler: no.

Look for big changes in my reward levels and what I offer soon, I learned a ton about what is possible at the Patreon conference and I am fired up! #cremationjoke

ps- $10 postcards are coming soon if you are missing one. Just got back from book tour so I'm full of new endearing messages and drawings to use ;)

I have another question for AAM. I would prefer a green burial, and I know there is a green cemetery close to where I live in the US, but we are currently living overseas. *Should* something happen to me or my immediate family, how would we get a body back to the states without embalming?

I recently had a mother who was viewing her son after a gunshot wound to the head. He was in good shape, as the exit wound was small, but the mother asked to actually see the wound ( we had it covered ). I didn't falter, I walked in and uncovered it for her to view. She then wanted to see his upper body. I uncovered him and she cried and cried. She needed that in order to believe further it was him. She needed to see. I would never question that! Thankfully she was with us and we allowed such a viewing. I'm sure it's not the same in many plaes. Thanks for this topic!!
