9-1-1 8X10: Voices

If I wasn't so used to characters on this show being practically dead and then fine a few episodes later, I'd be a lot more annoyed at Maddie living through this. I cannot imagine she not only lived, but could talk shortly after her surgery. After her throat get completely slit open?

Anyway, Maddie wakes up chained to the floor with her hands duct taped together, face down on a dirty mattress. Amber starts talking about how she chloroformed her and just generally is being crazy.

Meanwhile, Chim and Buck get back from Eddie's good bye dinner and can't find Maddie. They find her phone, and her wedding ring, and an alone Jee, but no Maddie. Chim is getting progressively more freaked out. Finally, Hen suggests it's time to file a missing person's report. He's reluctant to do so because he and Maddie promised the would tell each other if things got too much with this pregnancy and he wanted to trust her, but Hen convinces him.

Unfortunately, he meets with Amber who gets all this juicy info out of him under the guise of trying to find Maddie. Then, she fucking taunts her with it when she gets back downstairs. I really wanna be all 'fuck this bitch,' but you know there are a ton of mental health issues at play here. But still, stop fucking hurting people! Okay, you were kidnapped as a kid, I get it. What are you trying to prove? That you are stronger than the rest of the girl because you got away?

Eventually, Jee mentions that Maddie was talking to someone the night she disappeared, which leaves Chim to realize someone else was in the house with Maddie. He's desperately trying to get in touch with Amber, but she won't answer the phone (because she's busy torturing your wife), so he ends up heading over to her house.

Both she and Maddie see Chim at the door. Maddie is crying, begging her and asking what she's going to do. She responses with, 'get rid of your husband.' And then fucking slits Maddie throat clear across. Blood shoots out, Maddie collapses and Amber heads upstairs like nothing happened.

Thankfully, Athena and Romero have sort of figured out what's going on and are also racing to the house. Thanks to Josh, they know that Chim is there, so Athena calls him and tells him to get out of the house. Too late. When he turns around, she's got a gun on him. But somehow, Maddie has managed to crawl upstairs and bash her with something knocking her out. She then collapses again. Chim calls 9-1-1 while trying to attend to Maddie. But, Amber regains consciousness and just as she's about to shoot him, Athena shoots her.

Maddie is rushed to surgery and is basically fine. Because this is 9-1-1. I feel like I should be more annoyed about it, but mostly I'm just happy that my friends never die. Lol.

And we get Eddie finally leaving for Texas. This good bye between him and Buck seems so awkward. Like, they both don't want it to be happening, but are trying to be upbeat about it. And then poor Buck literally gets left behind. I hate it.
