The Fosters 1X18: Escapes and Reversals

Jesus. You cannot break up with your girlfriend via email. Although, I do commend you for attempting to break up with her as soon as you realized you had feelings for someone else. It ended up getting all messed, but I think you maybe tried to do the right thing.

So, Jesus breaks up with Lexi via email, only to come down to breakfast and find her at the table. The whole family was in on the surprise (although how she was allowed into the country, I have no idea) and boy was it a surprise. When he hugged her, he looked petrified, and a little angry, actually. Thankfully, (for him) he's able to snag her phone and delete the email before she sees it. However, he doesn't empty the trash. Rookie mistake, right there. (Says the girl who's never bother to look through Dan's phone. But I watch a lot of TV 🀣).

As soon as they get to school, Jesus rushes over to Emma to tell her that he couldn't break up with Lexi because she's, you know, here. Emma plays along as just a friend, but she's upset and ends up breaking her finger on her locker. Which means, Jesus is going to play (is that the right word- play doesn't sound correct in this instance) is first wrestling match today.

Mariana recruits Zack to come cheer him on (she needs 5 people to hold letters). He tells her he's supposed to go straight home after school, but decides to come anyway. Before the match, Callie is upset that she can't get in touch with Daphne (I learned her name, so she's probably gone now) after she accused her of stealing the Kindles. Callie now knows that she didn't do it (because Vico did), but that doesn't seem to sway the moms about her hanging out with her.

Anyway, Jesus is getting ready and to help focus, he pops a couple of his pills. There are only 2 left in the bottle. Are we supposed to assume he's been taking them regularly? Because I wasn't until this point. Regardless, the pills seem to make him dizzy and lightheaded and get blurry vision. But, he still manages to win the match.

Gina is thrilled and tries to send a picture of his win to her parents, but she out of storage. To make some room, she goes to delete her trash and sees the email from Jesus. Right after that, Jesus tells Emma that he loves Lexi so he's not going to break up with her. She claims she understands.

On the way out of the match Mariana and Zack plan an actual date a kiss a couple of times in the parking lot. Until, his mom speeds over and demands he get in the car. And she's not nice about it. Mariana is confused, and his mom speeds off (literally). Later, Zack shows up at the house and says that they can't date. She asks if it's because of his mom and he denies it, but you know there are demons there that we're gonna uncover. This is just that type of show.

Jesus brings Lexi to Mike's empty apartment and they start making out. But she stops him and tells him they have to talk. She lies and says that she kissed a guy in Honduras. She doesn't know if it's going anywhere, but she still thinks he should know. They end up breaking her. Her doing. I think she was so incredibly mature for this. But I think it broke her a little bit. They are 15. This just sucks for them. It's not either of their faults that she needs to live 2000 miles away right now.

Lena and Stef tell Jude and Callie that they need their father's permission to adopt them. He needs to give up legal custody of them. And he does, pretty quickly. But, they want to know if either of them want to see him beforehand. Callie immediately says 'no' for both of them, but Jude claims he does want to see him. However, it's Callie who ends up at his house that night. My guess is either she's trying to convince him not to see Jude, or if he does, to not put any shitty ideas in his head. I get the feeling she is not there for herself.

Oh, and Stef decides if Lena really wants to use Timothy as a sperm donor, they can all have a conversation about it. Thank god. These two have the worst communication. I have no idea how they've managed to be together this long, and have this many kids without talking properly. Seriously, guys.
